If the steering wheel shakes only when you apply the brakes, you need to have the brake rotors replaced or resurfaced. If the shake is all of the time, even when not using the brakes, you either have a bad tire or your tires need balancing. About 15-30 bucks on the tire balancing, depending on where you go.

Firstly what car are we asking about? Get the brakes replaced before metal to metal damage is done. Then have some one look at the CV joints. Seems like this car seldom sees professional help. So get your tires Road Force Balanced on a Hunter GPS 9700 that machine can tell you everything you did not want to know about your out of round tires bent wheels ETC I cannot even begin to guess how much money. "Hey Doctor" I have this condition and don't want to pay you for a diagnosis can you give me something? That is what your question reads like.

First, I would suggest getting the tires checked and balanced.. maybe even rotated if there isn’t an issue. My guess is though, that the balance is way out of whack, or you have a bad tire with a busted belt (the metal threads running through the rubber).
If it’s not the tires themselves, get a wheel alignment done. If that doesn’t solve the issue, get the rods/joints checked. Finally, the only other thing I can think of would be the bushings, mot likely on the steering coupler(s).

To help identify the problem, drive the car into the "shaky zone" then place the gear selector in NEUTRAL not PARK and let the engine idle. If the shaking stops or changes frequency dramatically, it is an engine vibration. If not, the tires are suspect.

Could be bad tires. Take it to an alignment shop and have it looked at.
Also, determine if the shake is related to engine RPM, speed, what gear it's in, or specific road surfaces. That will help the diagnosis.

Take it in and get a wheel alignment. About $50. They will also check everything else out on your front suspension. Tell them what the car is doing. Tell them what you have already done to car. It could just be cheap, or it could be expensive. That is why we learn how to work on our own cars. Go to an honest shop only.

It could be any number of things. Take it somewhere and have it looked at. Might be any of the above or tires out of balance. In any case it shoudln't be much more than 2-400 dollars

IF YOU CAN DRIVE INTO THE SHAKE AND THEN DRIVE OUT OF IT IT MAY BE A TIRE BALANCE IF THE VEHICLE SHAKES AT LOW SPEEDS LEFT TO RIGHT IT MAYBE A TIRE SEPERATION I WOULD INSPECT THE TIRES TO SEE IF THEY HAVE DEFORMITIES IN THE TREAD PATTERN OF TAKE IT TO A TIRE SHOP AND HAVE THEM DO AN INSPECTION. IF THEY DONT SEE ANYTHING WRONG HAVE THEM BALANCE THE TIRES
