my husband can't shift gears on our car, its stuck. how can he get it to shift gears? its a 93 mercury grand marquis.

Apart from a few leaky seals there are no obvious problems. A few months ago as I was driving into a parking lot after a 2 hour trip on the highway I heard a scapy/rubbing noise from the back end. I only noticed this noise as I was turning into the parking lot and it was at a very low speed (approx. 5mph). I didn't think anything of it and it was not there when I drove home later the same day (drove about 200 miles that day). I heard it a couple more times over the next couple of weeks and eventually decided to have it checked out. It occurs regularly now, but only after driving around for an hour or so and only when I am at low speeds turning (i.e. in a parking lot). I have had all the brakes replaced in the last 2 years and I have had the fluid changed in the rear diff. Last oil change the fluid in the diff looked ok. What could it be? Wheel bearing? Brake? Differential? It sounds like it comes from the wheel area and not from the middle where the differntial is.

The other day, when turning very tightly it made a popping sound. Now it does not react as if the hubs are locked but it is making a strange rattling sound in the front end. Any help would be appreciated.

Changed Radiator hose in 1993 Mazda 626. Had to remove the Distributor to get at the hose. Now the timing is off, and the car won't start. Any help would be appreciated.

I need to completly disconnect my car battery so i can reset the computer system in my car. I havn't done it for a long time so can't remember if there is anything i need to know. Something about using metal tools around a live battery doesn't seem right. Do i have to take one of the sides off first (posotive/negative) or does it not matter. Thanks for help in advance.

I would like to clean the inside of my car windows because they have that weird haze built up on the inside of them, but my windows are tinted. My husband has told me not to use Windex on the interior side of the windows, as it will harm the tint. Vinegar was suggested, but I'm not too sure about using that either. If anyone knows if vinegar would be okay to use or has any suggestions as to the best way to clean the windows without damaging them, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! :)

i have a 93 pontiac bonneville that was running fine yesterday and today won't start. i replaced the battery which also rules out the alternater. the starter is only 2 years old max on the car. when i turn the key, it makes a normal starting noise for about half a second and then nothing. it doesn't even make it far enough for the starter to click or anything else that would keep it from turning over. what could go bad in less than 12 hours to make a normal running car suddenly not come close to being able to start..........and yes there's gas in it, bout 3/4ths of a tank.

I have a Right Hand Drive Honda Accord Clip, that is, I have everything forward the Shifter Assembly.

I also have a Full Left Hand Drive Honda Accord.

Both are the same engines and transmission.
The only difference is that one has the steering wheel on the opposite side.
Im looking for someone who has done this swap or have some knowledge in the procedure in switching over the way the car drives.
I only have a little knowledge in the parts...I know that the steering rod or linkage needs to be switched...I just want to know what else needs to be.
Again, I have ALL the parts from the Right Hand Drive car...even the steering wheel, peddles, and shifter.

Not looking for plain answers like "expensive" or "too much".

how do I remove my tail light on my 2005 caravan? There is no screws or access panel to replace the bulb. I pulled off the inside wall panel and didn't find screws or access in there.

I don't know what the problem is with my car, but it got stuck in the mud and while it was in the mud it starting to sound different. When I start it has a louder sound. Could be the exaust, but it sounds like its coming from the front of the hood. When I hit the gas, it sounds like it's working harder, but it shifts fine. Does anyone know what the problem may be?
