my car was running fine yesterday..but a few minutes ago it wouldn't start. The first time i tried to start it it sounded like it wanted to turn over..the second and third time i tried to start it..nothing..could it be the starter?it is a grand prix

could just be a bad battery...i would look at that first...then check ur starter...if u turn the key...and it makes a clickkin noise...not alot..but just one clickin noise...then that could be the starter...if it makes a bunch of clickin noise...then it could be a battery...call me ...and tell me what its doing...760-802-9148...robert

Starter, or it could be that the problems with your battery have caused it to weaken and it may need replacement. Probably cheaper to try that first.

Doubtful, I believe either your diodes are bad in the alt and not charging, battery is fried, or possibly the charging wire on the back of the alt or batteries is broke

sounds like the starter motor.

If no lights come on, then no it is your alternator again. Else, it could be your starter.

right now it sounds like a bad battery...altenators and batters seem to like to go in pairs... when one is bad it takes the other out with it.
