Lithium is a kind or soap. Many greases use lithium in their formulation because it mixes with the other ingredients and keeps everything lubricated and clean. If you mix a petroleum based grease with a lithium based grease the lithium grease washes out the petroleum grease, along with the lithium grease, and you and up with no grease.

it's like white grease in a can really good stuff for door locks and doors

I used to use it on main & rod bearings when building engines & never had a start-up problem in those engines
