Insurance & Registration - March 2007

I drive a company car and have just received a notice of prosecution - 3 MONTHS after the offence (i did do it!). Just phoned police they told me letter went out to registered keeper after 13 days. This is the first I've heard of it - Am I still liable or is there something about 28 days of offence?

i had a accident while reversing the rental car.No third party is involved. Now the owner is chargin me the damages$450..lost of income $250- which is fair 2 me but on top of dat he claiming $500 Excess insurance claims from me??!! shld i Pay the $500? HELP ME.. :(

I was driving on an open 4 lane highway, the speed limit was 55. I was in the fast lane going 45-50, with no cars in front, behind, or beside me. A 1970's Chevy truck came up behind me and got within 2 feet of me. He had no reason to be on me, as he could have passed. I tapped my brakes and he got closer, so i hit my brakes hard and he had to swerve. He lost controll and ended up backwards on the highway. Is this my fault, or is he just a jackass who deserved it? He didnt crash, just spun around.


I didnt stop to see if he was ok, because im sure he would have been pissed off. I saw him later on down the road, he was looking in the bed of his truck, so he must have been ok.

I have an antique old car and I recently purchased a newer car as the everyday driver. When I purchased the newer car, I dropped the old car from the insurance and added the new one in it's place. Well, now the new car is down and I need something to drive. Is there anyway that an insurance company offers a temporary insurance on the old car again only until I get the new one fixed?

i was rear ended sunday well i been staying home with stiff neck and lower back since sunday today his insuranc compay came out and check my car for damages and gave me a offer to repairs the rear bumper slighty push in (can live with it) so 700 bucks for a new bumper and as for me she said i can go and see a doctor out of my own pocket then they will reimburst later as long i tell them first who im going to see
they made a offer of 150 bucks if i dont go to the doctor and settle it now
so a total of 850 bucks
what would you think they should offer ?if anything at all

Can someone tell me where I would need to go and what I would need to take with me to prove that its my vehicle? Also, is it possible to get the title in the same day? Could they issue a temporary copy until the original came in the mail?

Im selling a 1992 Honda civc, it doesnt run and is not yet registered. Does it require smog certificate if i sell it to another person?

It cant pass smog since it has a dead engine.

In the state of TX. I got tickets for driving without a license or insurance twice in the same week. I paid both. With the point system: I have to pay for 3 years each( I think; please correct me if im wrong). Can I still apply for a drivers license, or do I have to wait 3 yrs??

My M reg Mondeo Estate was written off in a car park bump because of a small dent. I am not happy with the valuation and have written back wanting more money. They now want to settle this by sending an external engineer at my expense if they agree with the original valuation. Is this fair and how should I take this further? The third party have claimed responsibility but I am going though my insurance as I am fully comp.

I was involved in an accident, but wasn't the cause of it however I did go to jail for going over the limit of .08. I know I'm an idiot and I'm already facing that side of the consqeuences which I surely deserve. However, my insurance company is getting a copy of my ACCIDENT report so will that involve that the driving had been drinking?

Hello, I live in Virginia and I am a high school student.
Due to some unexpected situations, I had to skip First month of school year, which made me unqualified for green card.
I passed Driver's ED class but since I didn't take that class enough ... I was unqualified for it...
I think I heard that I can do that somehow on the Internet or something like that.... Is there anyway that I can get the green card other than going to summer school or retaking HPE10 ?
Please help me !!! I want to drive.

My car is due for inspection this June for NY State but I am moving to Seattle in early June where I will register car for Washington State. Should I get the car inspected in NY before I leave, or will I have mandatory inspection upon new registration for Washington State?

Got rear ended thought i could just get my car fixed i owe $6,000 on it i called the other company they want to give the lien holder $4300 the value of the car this means i still owe 1700 and have no car because of course the insurance company wants it the car is very driveable and not much damage at all that i can see is there a way for me to keep the car and still pay on it with the damage or otherwise i'm out $1700 and no car and aweful credit to get another car does any one know any thing about a total loss car?

I expect higher rates when its time to renew our policy. However, since my brother in law is not on our policy, does not reside in our house and the policyholders (my wife and I) didn't have the accident, I am wondering if it would make sense to go to another insurance company.

I realize that other insurance companies ask for your former/current insurance company and sometimes the policy number but do you by law have to give it to them?

In other words, will I be able to get insurance rates that do not reflect this accident?
