My mom co-signed for my car with me 5 years ago when I bought it. I have just paid it off (made all payments myself) and received the title a few days ago. My mom's name is on the title along with mine. How do I go about getting her name off the title?

It all depends on the state and whether or not the two names say "and" or "or"! In Florida you can remove the other name so long as it says "or" but not "and"! In NYS you must both go to DMV and sign paperwork no matter what!

cancel rego.get road worthy and reregister in your own name this can all be done on the same day ,or mum can sign transfer at rego office.a small fee involved

take her with you to the DMV
