2002 f150 4x4 about a month or so ago i start to notice/hear an odd clunky sound coming from the front drivers tire area when i hit bumps so i figured it was time for new shocks so i replaced them and added a steering stabalizer problem still there i i forgot to mention that at 35-4 then 50-70 the steering wheel shakes its horrible at speeds above 90 and its not the wheel being out of balance. someone told me it could be the idler arm but rather than just replacing parts till i find whats wrong i thought i try and see what other people thought it might be and how to check. after the shocks i also replaced both front wheel bearing hubs cause thats what i originally thought it was.

The state of NH came out with a new law this year requiring the ABS and TRAC dashboard lights to be off.

I had the inspection done at an independent mechanic. The car passes inpection except for the ABS and TRAC lights.

I went to Volvo and they didn't even know about the new law yet. However, they looked it up and found it in the new book. They quoted $720 for a new computer module and labor.

My question is, how can I get around this? Even they said it was a silly law and that the brakes work irregardless.

I wouldn't sacrifice safety, but I've been driving under this condition for years.

Any ideas? Thanks.

My daughter inlaw and son have a 2001 chrysler LHS.The other day they had to have it towed because it would not start,They live in Alaska. The car would turn over and only run for awhile and die,all the lights are working. The guy at the shop replaced the fog light fuse, they started it in the shop and it ran, they took it home and tryed starting it this morning and the same thing happened,it is being towed again.I know nothing about cars, but why would the fog light fuse make it run?I know you have to get cars winterized in Alaska, which they have not done, but the mechanic said that wouldn't make any difference.
We live in Iowa and the winters don't seem to get any colder here than there,it is the same temperature there as it is here today.Any way does anyone know what could be wrong with it.?I think the mechanic is taking their money,my son is in the service and stationed at Fort Wainwright, they don't have alot of money to be throwing away, any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure it's the tie rod ends but when visually inspecting it (on the hoist) everything checks out, the ball joints are in good condition.

Does anyone know where/how I can get an engine control computer tested. I have a car that will not spark and it may be pointint to this box, I am not sure because the car was running before it needed an engine rebuils with this computer.

The coils are good
the ecm is good
there is a good crak sensor (New)
The crank sensor wiring is testing good
Everything tests goos but NO Spark
Even jumpering the computer it gives a 1,2/1,2/12 code telling us that the computer is working on the car, but can it still not spark, this car has not run for 5 years, but is not put together and cranks but has no spark????!!!!!!!

i have a 2005 dodge caravan. we had a bad ice storm and i defrosted the van then when i looked down water was dripping in the passenger side under the dash. the heat worked great then all of a sudden my heater wont come on at all as if it were frozen. we replaces the fuse and that was not the problem. we also had the windshield replaced a while ago and i didnt know if it could be leaking there or somewhere else. any suggestions on where it may be leaking or what is wrong with the heater. i am guessing it is froze up or burnt up.(the blower motor).

The other day i saw in a parking lot, a very small El Camino/Ranchero style car/truck that had the star/pentagon badge shared by chrysler and dodge. The vehicle was very small, but in its pristine condition with candy apple red paint, i honestly would love to own one like that. It was about 80% the size of an El Camino, such that it had an overall footprint much more like a VW Beetle. It appeared to be somewhere between the very late 70s to the very early 90s, based on its boxy appearance, reminiscent of the old Monte Carlo's used for hobby stock racing (boxy with lots of accent creases to the panels, 80s typical).

There were no badges identifying the vehicle anywhere, and I think i honestly might buy one if i knew what they were so i could find one on eBay. Thanks!
