i have a 2005 dodge caravan. we had a bad ice storm and i defrosted the van then when i looked down water was dripping in the passenger side under the dash. the heat worked great then all of a sudden my heater wont come on at all as if it were frozen. we replaces the fuse and that was not the problem. we also had the windshield replaced a while ago and i didnt know if it could be leaking there or somewhere else. any suggestions on where it may be leaking or what is wrong with the heater. i am guessing it is froze up or burnt up.(the blower motor).

if it got cold enough to freeze the heater core in it then you didn't have any anti freeze in it,and that wont be all that got frozen up on it,its possible you do have a leak around the windshield but that shouldn't cause the heater motor to stop working, you have two different problem with that one first the leak then the heater motor, have a shop check it for you,it will probably save you time and money on this job, good luck with it.

Oh Oh. I'm guessing a leaking windsheild. How long ago was the windshield replaced?? The way I see it is water is leaking from the windshield, behind the dash (so possible bottom of the window) and screwing all the wiring under there. Take it to where you got the window done. I used to check with foaming glass cleaner and compressed air to find where the foam bubbles.. I have a 2005 Caravan and worked with automotive glass to two years, leaks can easily happen in the urethane is not cured properly before you took it home, or just an oversite on the techs. part and there was a hold in the bead he ran that never got caught before the window was set in. Go after them for the damages too if it turns out the window was leaking.

Take a test light and go under the dash on the passanger side, you will see the blower motor, pull the plug and turn on the key and the fan motor up HIGH check that the test light is bright at the plug, if it is then replace the blower motor.

If not then look at the blower switch and or the mode switch...

TOO MANY ROOKIES TRYING TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!! If your not a tech then leave the answer to one thank you.

umm hard to say with out looking at it. but the first step is to see if there is power going to the motor. A simple test light can do that for you (less then a dollar at some stores) I would bet that there is no power there or at the fuse. whitch means there is a relay that quit working on you. you'll have to find it and replace it. Good news though once you do find it there cheap. less then 10 bucks.

To me it sounds like the ice locked up the motor temporally or got full of water and if you didn't turn it off at that time, it burned itself out. Also check the blower motor resistor. It doesn't like to get wet either.

It could be your heater core, it got frozen and was damaged.Check also heater hoses, it could be broken too causing the leaks.

you may have a bad heater core, does the water have antifreeze in it , If you still have extended warranty on it take it to the dealer have them fix it. if you don't have warranty then i would take it to a repair shop you trust, to get it fixed, don't run the heater till you get it fixed.
