This CJ has a re-built six (has 30,000 on it now) new clutch installed when motor was re-built. Re-painted 4 years ago. New battery, radiator, good tires.
Is it worth a 4 hour drive to look at it? What would you offer the owner when he tells you cash talks...............

Get it up on a lift at a shop, and check the bottom out closely, check for rust, crash damage, has it been repaired by a mechaninc, or some hack try'n to make a fast$$$. If all checks out offfer him 3k for it, and when he calms down, start negoitating for a better price. Other than new paint,&engine, everything else is just maintenance stuff!! Check auto/truck traders for ideas about pricing!! good luck

That's a tough question. In this case it's worth whatever you feel like paying, How bad do you need or want this jeep?
It's not worth it to turn around and try to sell so keep in mind one thing. How many people are willing to give you what you pay for it. If everyone would give $4500.00 it would already be gone. So don't let your desire to own it make you pay more than it's worth. I'd start with $2500.00 and then walk away. Give him time to think about it, Leave and let him call you with a counter offer. I bet he'd come down a bunch..
You have to be willing to gamble though. Good Luck Bill B

well, make sure that there is no rust present ANYWHERE on the body or floor panels, then give him a lowball offer. somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 off. so say 3000. if there is some damage present take that into account. ask what else he will throw in for free

CJ's are almost a collectible vehicle,so it may be worth that amount.I have seen some decent CJ's sell for more then that and some mint CJ's sell for quite a bit more.

Like they say, whats it worth to you. Just check it over, and over and over. Were I'm from the frames rot out just in front of the rear wheels, up here in the north land the snow-rain-salt-mud-etc... get trapped in frame there and rot it out, when its rotted out the jeeps worth parts only.
