Ok, an interesting concern that is plauging me and one the more experiance ford mechanics could probabily answer. I have a 1994 ford f-250 4wheel drive,superduty,7.3l diesel e40d tranmission. and it is the e40d I am having problems with. the transmission is freshly remaned because it blew up. but the truck has had a problem where is will not shift automaticly you have to manually shift from 1 to 2 to 3 the overdrive will not work the tach has quit working. this is a problem that plauged the truck since before the reman trans. the trans controler/tach fuse was blown and replaced and did not blow again. I'm getting ready to start getting the wireing harness out of the looms to visual inspect because my snap-on 2500 scan tool will not talk to the trans ecu. it's been about 6 years since i worked at a ford dealer so if anyone can help with idea about the more common problems on these e40ds in this model year I'd appreicate it.

I have a 91 Honda Civic and it has problems starting. Sometime when i go to start it, it will not start. Especially when it is very hot outside. in the morning ans the evenings when the temp outside is cool the car usually stats on the first try. Other time i have to crank it a couple of times to start, but like i said when it is really hot it will not start at all.
-It has a new battery.
-Just had it worked on for not starting at all, it needed a new fuse. They also repalced the alternator belt, the power steering belt, and thethe ac belt.
-they did a diagnostic on it and did not show anything else wrong.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My honda has a 1996 acura integra gsr engine swap in it. And the z28 has custom headers and better pulleys on it. So im trying to figure out if i should trade or not. I like imports but so many people are building them now-a-days and you just cant mess with american muscle. So would i be losing anything if i do trade. The engine on my honda has 400 miles on it and the camaro has 130,000. But i plan on upgrading the whole internals of the camaro's engine. ok let me put it like this dont mention gas because my honda only gets like 15 miles a gallon because i have 12.5:1 compression pistons in it. Nothing but raw motor.

1. block heater in the freeze-out plug? or
2. Heater spliced into the lower radiator hose?
The freeze out plug may be very difficult to get out of a 20 year old car. I like the idea of the lower hose heater but not sure if it would be as effective.

I have a 96 328is right now, I want more power and a newer car with less miles. 2001.5 s4 or 1999 m3? I haven't drove a audi before and I have only driven BMW's since I got my license at 16. I’m 23 and thinking I might not like the audi since I am accustom to the BMW feel. Any suggestions or insight is appreciated.
