1. block heater in the freeze-out plug? or
2. Heater spliced into the lower radiator hose?
The freeze out plug may be very difficult to get out of a 20 year old car. I like the idea of the lower hose heater but not sure if it would be as effective.
Thanks, from Vito V.

the ones that go in the freeze out plug are better,,the other ones tend to heat the hose up,,and make it get soft,,i own a repair shop, and i have installed both types,,i did have trouble with the hose type on one car and had to switch it to freeze plug type,,out of all the ones i have installed the freeze plug type never give any trouble at all,,so id go with that one ,especially on a mercedes,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

The block heater is much better. Used to sell both years ago and never had a problem with block heaters, however the water ones came back about half the time.
