I have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder/manual with 69000 miles on it and it is a great jeep it just is kind of gutless. It has no balls. From a stop it leisurely goes through it's gears with no real pick-up. I want to give it a make over from the inside. Short of changing the engine to a 6 or 8 cylinder what can I do to give the thing some kick? I don't know much about servicing my own cars, but I learn fast and I have unlimited recourses, just not much money.

I am getting it for $400... it has 150k miles on it... my real question is that the guy I am buying it from has replaced the radiator and the thermostat but it still overheats... why is that? What parts do I need to check out? Could it possibly be the water pump or the cooling fan or something? I know how to fix the other 2 things. (it has no muffler and the charging system has a problem ... battery or alternator...) I just need someone who knows Fords that can tell me what my problem is going to be and someone to give me an idea of how much money I will have to put into the truck. I know it will be about $50 for the muffler system, and if I get it new, $125 for my alternator... HELP!!!

I'm thinking about getting some rims for my car, what size do you recommend? 20 or 18 inches? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each wheel size.

I always thought the 305 wasn't as tough as the old 350s, but i recently saw a video on youtube of some kids trying to blow one up, and it just wouldnt die. I know GM v8s are typically bulletproof, but which one is tougher, a 305 or a 350?
