Cars & Transportation - 11 October 2007

When I activate it it completly shuts off my highbeams. Why is this? I thought it was so if I had my hibeams on and another car was coming toward me it would turn them off. Answers from previous owners would be most helpful.

about 3 times at first then it just keep takeing longer to start entill about 3 days ago it finally wouldnt start at all i've changed so many parts i dont know what to do now???
if any one has any advice please let me know..

I have a 97 civic. 2 days ago it was running fine. that nite, my bf noticed coolant leaking, he found the leaking hose and fixed it. he ran the car for 20 minutes. the car started to feel like it was gonna die, rpm was at 900. i turned off the car. i turned it on again and it was fine. 3 minutes later, the car did the same thing, rpm was at 900. i turned it off and tried to turn it on again. it wouldnt crank over. battery is new. we were told from 4 diff. ppl that it was the eld ( electronic load detector ). bought a new one. car still doesnt turn on at all...please help!!!!!

I live in Saint Louis and in our city stop signs are ran through on a regular basis, and stop lights are optional to people here stopping wise. Why is everyone in such a hurry? And is this a problem in your City or town? Here is your chance to vent people!!

My reason for this is I don't have any money saved to rent an apartment just yet. I have to move to a city to get a job. I have a 2 friends that I can sleep some nights with but don't have the room to house me everynight. (They are living 2 adults and 1 child in a studio apartment with no walls.) It's gonna get really cold where I live but have no choice. My current situation is my family lives in the middle of nowhere and I can't find any jobs here. I am going to a city a couple hours from my parents home so if I need anything they aren't far. This doesn't seem safe, sane or ideal I know but it's a last resort. P.S I'm a female under 25. I just want advice, this is what I need to do to better my life. I know people have done this for a month or so.

I am looking for a $5000 - $6000 loan to buy a used car. I can't use my credit union because they wont loan me enough for the car (it costs more than blue book and the car has over 100,000 miles on it but they don't take into account the fact that it has a bunch of aftermarket parts and a new engine). I tried Capital One and I liked how they didn't ask about the car and just sent me a blank check so I could purchase any car I wanted but they have a minimum of $7500 for the loan and I don't want to spend that much right now. I have an okay credit score (nothing bad on it but only about 2 years history) and I'm really curious as to what my best option is. Is there another company like Capital One that doesn't require information on the car and will loan smaller ammounts or should I go with a personal loan with a higher interest rate (I will have this payed off quite a bit faster than 5 years)? Also for the second option which companies do you recommend? Than you.

So im thinking of getting a car... but im 16 so i know insurance is gonna be insane, and im in MA so its mandatory. Anyways from what i understand it cost way less to get added to your parents policy. But can i do that if im not driving their car, but my own car i bought (not yet)? I cant buy the car in their name... has to be in mine...

I can ride my ATV from my private property, thru trails and ride to a bar without going on any roads and get sloppy azz drunk and ride it home while im drunk outta my mind, but I have to cross one state owned road, where it is legal to cross a road with an ATV. If a cop would stop me, and if I was dumb enough to stop, could I be legally charged with a DUI?

I recently went to get gas with a friend, and the idiot decided to help me fill it up while I went in to get a soda. Well, it ended up overflowing. Not a great amount overflowed, but it did get on the gas tank. When I came home about an hour later, I took a warm, soapy sponge and washed it off lightly, then rinsed it off with another sponge and warm water, then dried it.

Is this sufficient, or is the paint going to corrode? Mind you, I don't plan on rinsing my motorcycle with gasoline often, if ever again, and won't be leaving my motorcycle with anyone while getting gas, ever again, so this is probably a one time thing. Just wondering though.

I do not have power seats, and it's not any kind of aftermarket add on. There are wires coming from it, which go under the seat and then under the carpet.

ok i was watching some flight deck vid and they zoomed into the autopilot area and i saw that it had 3 autopilot switches "L C R" now i think that stands for left, center and right, I thought 1 switch engages autopilot, please explain why theres 3 switches?

He is actually very good. Well, there have been several lapses of judgment. But over all, I'm happy with him. However, he has never taken a driver test nor is he legal in this country. He does work very cheaply and does a bang up job on keeping the car clean and shiny. Plus his Spanish come in quite handy when he picks up day laborers at Home Depot.
