I do not have power seats, and it's not any kind of aftermarket add on. There are wires coming from it, which go under the seat and then under the carpet.

It's not the type of switch that power seats would use. It's the kind pilots flick on, and say "all systems go.." lol

you do no longer. You restoration the topic with the vehicle. this is going to be some distance less complicated, and particular some distance extra on your budget, than doing what you're asking approximately, that's purely soliciting for an electric powered hearth. electric powered followers in vehicle applications draw upwards of 30 Amps on startup...you're actually not likely to locate a toggle swap rated for extra desirable than 5A for under $20, I virtually assure it (meaning the swap will finally burn out on your passenger compartment, while you're fortunate it won't capture hearth whilst, no longer if, it does). Even then, you do no longer desire the wires working that some distance, super sufficient to preserve that load, so now you're talking approximately including a relay, which the vehicle already has, so why upload yet another one? Take that factor to somebody who is familiar with hassle-free electric powered structures...this is not confusing to verify. 12V to the fan motor..does it turn? If no longer, motor is undesirable. If it does, this is possibly the relay. be conscious i did no longer say replace something. I stated take it to somebody which could examine this very hassle-free equipment. you do no longer understand how the setup works, and till you do, how are you able to probable understand the thank you to "paintings around" it? i'm no longer a genius, yet i understand vehicle electric powered followers, and that they do no longer seem to be complicated sufficient to no longer purely restoration wisely. there are a number of those automobiles in the wrecking yards, as quickly as you paintings the topic out, you are able to possibly source the area (in spite of this is, as much as the fan) for $5-20. what's way less confusing/swifter/extra on your budget/safer? changing a $20 fan motor, or bobbing up an electric powered hearth probability in the cab of your vehicle, which in spite of if performed the least stupid way, will fee you extra desirable than $20, and take you hours of paintings attempting to jury rig to get it to paintings halfway astounding. by using how, how did you paintings you have been going to make effective the fan comes on on the main suitable time, and rancid on the main suitable time? effective, you ought to enable it run all of the time, yet this is not how GM did it, for a reason. have confidence me. restoration the topic wisely, or create an entire host of different complications. What you're suggesting is how a seventy 5 365 days previous "fixes" complications.

Probably a kill switch that the previous owner installed....try starting the car with the switch in one position and then the other to see if it keeps the car from starting. Could be for the flame thrower too .

Even if it's not a full power seat, it probably has a power height adjustment on the seat cushion. That's pretty common......
