I stop here in NC, but there are so many idiots that run them, like truckers hauling it down the highway that is not far from my house. they blow through the red lights doing 100 miles an hour and have caused many accidents and a couple of deaths.

But I think that the thing that bugs me most is the people that drive in the fast lane on a 4 lane highway and they just piddle along and don;t even think about getting over for faster traffic!

Or the idiot that you see piddling along, weaving all over the place, chatting on their cell phone!

I live close to Los Angeles and California rolling stops are a religion. No one actually stops at stop signs. They run through red lights like they're getting paid to break the law. It's a very common thing here to see or hear of a really horrific accident caused by speed. Recently there's been a rash of road rage that has taken the lives of innocent bystanders. It seems like this thing is all over the states.

You know I noticed that recently it's like it has become optional I almost got hit on the way home because someone thought they needed to go right after the person ahead of them at a stop sign not to mention the number of people who just run the red light I will stop when it turns yellow and I'm sure it pisses of the people behind me but you know what I could care less

Red lights I stop 100% of the time. Only a total moron would run a red light.

Stop signs. Unless I see a cop there I just roll through them. Most of them are four-way stops anyhow. I figure if I slow enough to shift into first gear. Then I'm going slow enough, that I'll be able to stop if I see another car.

Yes! I come to a COMPLETE stop at ALL stop signs and red lights before turning, since I almost ran over a little old lady walking across the street. She was so short that I couldn't see her because of all the cars waiting at the light.

The problem with stopping as the law requires is some jerk always honks or almost hits you. Then he will say it's YOUR fault.
DUMMY!

Yes, I always stop at them and look both ways and annoy the people in my car :) Recently I was waiting at a red light and the light turned green. I couldn't see around the car next to me so I slowly inched up. All of a sudden a car made a left hand turn through his/her red light. If I had driven through the intersection without checking to see if it was clear first I would have been hit. I wish people would slow down and obey the rules of the road. - I'm from California.

There is a major intersection near my house and EVERY single time I pass through it -- someone runs the red light.

I stop for every red light and every stop sign -- no matter what. When my daughter was little and we came upon a stop sign, we would stop and say "1 - 2 - 3 and 4 to be sure" -- counting the seconds that you should stop for. I still do it even if she isn't with me.

Well in southern california on the coast, not stopping at stop lights is basically... well fatal. Unless you are really lucky, traffic is always and most of the time I have to wait at one light for two whole cycles before i actually enter the intersection. And for stop signs, yes mostly, if I am in a hurry I may not stop all the way... I need to make up time for those pesky lights!

Hmmm... almost 30 years of driving now... I've accidently RAN one red-light, thank God no accident. I've "rolled" several hundred stop-signs on right turns over the years. Though I've never had a single accident.

the only time i run a light is when it is 3 am and no one is out and the lights will not change or the cycle thought and my light never changes. I see people run them all the time i cant stand it when people do it always scares me when i get a green light because i am afraid that i am going to get hit i have seen it happen a few times.
