I have a 97 civic. 2 days ago it was running fine. that nite, my bf noticed coolant leaking, he found the leaking hose and fixed it. he ran the car for 20 minutes. the car started to feel like it was gonna die, rpm was at 900. i turned off the car. i turned it on again and it was fine. 3 minutes later, the car did the same thing, rpm was at 900. i turned it off and tried to turn it on again. it wouldnt crank over. battery is new. we were told from 4 diff. ppl that it was the eld ( electronic load detector ). bought a new one. car still doesnt turn on at all...please help!!!!!

If it cranks the starter motor over ok, but won't start and run, first check for good spark with the tester below. If you have good spark, then spray quick start starting fluid into the air intake duct. If it starts, runs, stalls, you have a fuel problem.

If it won't crank (turn over) at all, buy a new battery if yours is over 5 years old. Otherwise jump start and have the battery and charging system checked at the auto parts store.

its an engine or battery problem...or try replacing the whole coolant

it happened to my 96 camry too...i was driving down the highway and i saw smoke coming out of the hood and the problem was the coolant was defective so i had to replace it...cost me 3000 bucks for something that was toyota's fault

Won't start" is pretty vague. It could be hundreds of posibilities.
Dead battery, Low battery, bad ground wire to engine, bad power wire to starter, bad power wire to battery, bad connection at battery post or terminals, blown fuse, bad key switch, bad starter, bad fuel pump, bad injectors, out of gas, neutral safety switch, seized engine, broken connecting rod, no compression, no spark, bad oil pressure switch, broken timing belt, plugged fuel filter, bad starter solenoid, bad starter, broken rotor, cracked distributor cap, Anti-theft device, water in/on engine, out of gas, vacuum leak, bad gas, bad ignition coil, blown computer, faulty cam or crank sensor ...
