I am looking for a new car, so I've been doing some research. I would prefer to get something used, probably nothing with more than 35k miles on it and no older than 2005, definitely 2004. I'm currently looking at a Volvo S40 or XC90, Audi A4, Lexus RX330, or possibly an '06 BMW 3-series. Right now I really like the Volvos, but I would like to hear some other opinions on which vehicle offers a better ride, more reliability, etc.

Thanks in advanced for your replies.

The key is stuck in the ignition . The car starts fine and runs good. You just can't remove the key. The car is an automatic.

So I'm planning to change my car battery for my 2003 Acura RSX Type-S. I've changed a car battery before so doing it won't be an issue. However, i'm planning to maybe upgrade to a stronger battery..maybe an orbital..or possibly one of those special made ones for car audio ...to see if it'll bump some more power to my car audio (i have one subwoofer...nothing crazy)..just curious if by doing so I could possibly damage my car's electronics system..and/or should just stick with a factory spec car battery?

BTW anywhere I can check online to see exactly what battery type/rating my car needs? Thank You.

The sway bar has come "loose" in the hole that it is in. The mechanic said that it is only at the level of what he'd classify as an "annoyance." When driving I feel as if the car does not have as much control especially when I'm turning or traveling on a road that is not smooth. Does anyone know if this is normal the loss of control feeling and will it get worse?

I currently owe $13,000 on my car and according to the Kelley Blue Book...my car's trade-in value is $10,280. But I want to trade it in for a car that would probably be around $7-8,000 worth. How does a car trade-in work in my situation?

ok so once a head gasket is blown the cylinder head is removed and sent to an automotive engineering shop.

what exactly do they do to it (in detail pls) and how do they get it to look almost brand new on all surfaces? Are there any sites/books/resources that go more in detail of what is done?

also, how do they know the torques to be applied. I doubt they have a database of all torque settings. Is it just a case of taking the size of the bolt and matching it with the standard torque settings of that size bolt? Also, where do they get turn 2 half turns and wait for 2 minutes? thanks

ANY way to get the word out how bad this company is? After 10wks they are still trying to pay me less than the stated value on the policy. They are not even returning calls to the gent that hit me. They are basically incouraging me to sue their client. These two planes were on the ground at the time of the accident. Mine was actually tied up and no one was in it. AIG SUCKS

Some refill shops say to leave my bottle so they can freeze it before they fill it. Some shops do not. Is this necessary, and why, or why not. If I freeze it myself do i freeze it with the valve open or closed, or does it matter?

Some squirrels decided to chew up the main engine wiring harness on my poor little car. The harness needs to come out of the car to repair it.

The local repair places just say it will be $80/hr and don't even know how many hours it would take to remove/install it.

Does anyone know how long it should take a mechanic to remove/install one of these?

Is this a DIY proposition? Most of the wiring has obvious plugs on the end but it's not clear what's involved in detaching the wiring that goes through the firewall & how it attaches to the fuse & relay boxes.

If you have experience with this, I'd like to hear about it.

I have lots of experience in soldering electronics so I could fix it myself, if I could just get it out of the car!

PS - it's really a Geo Prizm which is nearly identical to a Corolla.

I drive a 2003 Ford Taurus with 30,180 miles.

THIS IS WHAT MY CAR IS DOING:
1. Check engine light was on (until they did the test, NOW its NOT on)
2. Leaking something onto driveway.
3. Seems to run hot. (Middle between C and H).
- even when driving short distances 1 mile.
4. Smells like it is running hot.
- even when driving short distances, 1 mile
5. Has smoked some (very little smoke) a couple of times.

THIS IS WHAT AUTO ZONE COMPUTER SAID.

Lack of bank 1 02 transition - Lean

Explanation:
ECM detected bank 1 02 at its lean limit.

Probable Cause:
1. Misfire in bank1
2. Vacuum leak affecting bank 1 only
3. Fuel injector probable bank 1
4. Engine mechanical condition.

I am going to take it somewhere in the morning. But anyone have any ideas WHAT could be wrong? How much will this end up costing me? $$$$$$$ :-(

Did anyone had this experience? the engine over heated during normal drive (70mph avg for about continous 65miles drive), and maybe due to some pressure the radiator shield broke a coin size hole on it, and the coolant spashed out and smoke came off the hood. The strange thing is the radiator hole, which did not happen on the pump area but on the hard plastic area, even the dealers could not explain why. I had to replace the radiator, alt pulley, alt belt. this E39 has got about 67k miles on it now.

I had my car rust proof at the dealer. When I took the car home, and I looked underneath my car, i can see some black undercoatings. HOwever, there was hardly any at all, and only a little here and there in minor places. Is this suppose to be right? My sister just had her car rust proof at the exact dealer, and her car seemed to have had much much more undercoatings compared to mine.

Now, what should I do about this?

It is a 2002 reg.The AA are puzzled. We have checked out the crankshaft sensor, correct fuel, fuel filter, etc. It has been suggested that it is the injector pump, but why does it run ok after a squirt of easy start? Any ideas please.
