We've replaced the airfilter, but it hasn't helped. After it dies, it smells very strong of gas and it has to set for at least 5 minutes before you try starting it again, only for it to happen all over again. What's its problem?

I hit a speedbump in a Renault Scenic, which, unknowingly, resulted in a hole in the sump. When the oil light came on, I was in an unsafe area and had to drive another 2 km's (roughly just over a mile). I drove at a very slow speed and the car was still leaking oil when I had finally stopped the car.

Now that the hole has been fixed and the oil replaced, the car is making a rattling noise and is cutting out as soon as the temperature of the car increases. Does this sound like some serious (and expensive) damage has been done to the engine?

I just bought a '95 Z-28 Convertible. It, of course, has the 5.7 lt1 with 100,000 miles on it. It was sitting in a guys back yard for about two months. He said an old lady pulled out in front of him, so he replaced the front clip. What should I do to tune it up? Not necessarily performance, just to ensure that its running properly.

This question is about a 98 Honda Accord V6. A "whirring" noise began under the hood. I suspected that it was the power steering drive belt, because the sound seemed to come from that, and the whirring fluctuated when I turned the steering wheel.

While examining the power steering motor's belt, I looked down and noticed that the other belt is not moving at all.

The V6 Accord of this year has 2 belts; 1 goes from the flywheel to the power steering pump. The other is a serpentine belt that goes to everything else. The power steering belt is moving and seems fine.

So, why isn't the serpentine belt moving? By hand it feels quite stuck, but when the car is running, all systems seem to be working perfectly.

I should hear bad squealing and smell rubber burning, but I don't. I hear just that slight "whirring."

How can that belt not be spinning on the pullies, yet the systems seem to be OK?

I hope some of you car gurus are reading today!

Especially while on long North/South flights. If they don't , won't they tend to reach somewhere else because the earth has moved.
Thanks.

It it a 1993 Buick Regal Custom 3.8L. Engine. I had my head gasket replaced after I had blown it. I also had a tune up and oil change performed on it. I also replaced the thermostat. It skips really bad after I put it in drive. Someone told me to mix some Lucas oil with some 10w40 oil and that should fix the skipping.
