BEEMERs are heavy cars and will drive in mild to med snow conditions but its still a rear wheel drive so they are limited on how much you'll be getting around when the snow gets heavy.
I reconmend any BMW ix < these are all wheel drive modles. keep shopping and see if you can find one in your aera.
if not then you kinda know what to expect with the 325 ci that you like.

Depends on the model, since the mid 1990s, BMW 3 series had traction control standard and that helps a lot. But they are still high performance vehicles and will not perform as well in the snow as others. Changing to winter tires helps. If you are looking at a new BMW, get the all wheel drive option and that should take care of most of your concerns.
For snow I recommend in this order, IMHO
Fulltime all wheel drive
Parttime 4 wheel drive
Front wheel drive with all speed traction control
tie - FWD and RWD with all speed traction control
RWD

I use to have a BMW 540 and I loved that car. I want another one. We took it on a road trip and it started snowing, depending on your tire (as always), is depending on how it reacts with the road. We had performance tires and it handled well. The BMW is in fact the Ultimate Driving Machine, it pretty much drives itself. The traction control on the car works wonders. Good Luck!

i live in the states i have a 87 BMW 535i auto rrdrive, i have a button next to the shifter that reads, s for sports, e economy and 3-2-1 which is used when roads are slippery the tranny starts out in 3rd gear, and will not go into overdrive, and will disable the kick down button thats a button under the gas peddle, its used when you press the peddle down into overdrive and than if you press the peddle all the way that button will be pressed to give more power and the tranny shifts into 1st or 2nd gear im not sure which gear but i know it 1 or 2. but anyway its fun driving rrdrive in snow...

all rear wheel drives are a pain in the snow and it might not be worth it try an Audi even though the BMW is a little better. Audi has 4WD.

I have been running my 323ci for 3+ years now.
I live in central NH and worked in Northern NH. The car WILL take care of you and itself as long as you don't try to drive like you're invincible.
Just put on a decent set of snow tires and drive sensibly.
I'm selling a set with BMW rims on Craigslist if you're interested.
