Fuel level sensor or instrument problem I could not locate the size of the tank in the service manual. I suspect 17 gallons However the fuel pump and sender unit is about two feet long can be removed from the trunk some times you just need to find the float it might have become disconnected fron the level sensor rod. Drive it a day or two so you can remove the sending unit with less spill.

17.2 US gallons

Your gas gage is failing, probably the sending unit.
