The sway bar has come "loose" in the hole that it is in. The mechanic said that it is only at the level of what he'd classify as an "annoyance." When driving I feel as if the car does not have as much control especially when I'm turning or traveling on a road that is not smooth. Does anyone know if this is normal the loss of control feeling and will it get worse?

sway bar links can affect stbility some, but i think you have another problem too. could be inner or outer tie rod ends. the inners are bushings that press into the rods, not everyone will know to check them. it could be loose wheelbearings, and i have seen some high mileage intrepids with worn ball joints. i would reccommend having it looked at thoroughly asap. it could be dangerous.

It's a simple deal to replace the sway bar bushings with Energy Suspension poly. replacements. Auto Zone has them. You'll need to very accurately measure your sway bar diameter before buying replacements.

loss of control is not a common complaint with sway bar links or bushings sounds like a tie-rod end to me ( i assume that is what he means by clips?)
