I was wondering what my 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera is worth?

It has a 3.2 liter, 6 cyl engine. 60k miles. "Good" condition (paint, interior & mechanics). The car is primarily driven on the weekends (kept covered inside a garage in Virginia).

I'm just not sure whether I want to keep it long-term or not. Its nearly paid off, but insurance, maintenance and parking costs have me weighing my options.

Also, should I expect the value to escalate once it becomes an antique (25 yrs old)? Should I get antique plates and antque insurance in that case?

by the way...I truly love this car. not many people get to buy their dream car at age 23...but eventually I'm sure I will have more important things to spend my money on...like a house. :)
thanks for the input.

im planning to buy a used car from a private seller, its a 2006 but has a salvaged title. it only has about 14K miles on it. checked it out under the hood and underneath, even test drove it, and found no problems whatsoever. the seller said he bought it off an auction and that it had been in a minor accident (fender bender in the rear), but he had it fixed to look like new so he could sell it. it even had the new car smell..
my question is, what could be the reason(s) why its salvaged? i feel like i want something to be wrong with this car, because of the salvaged title. is this legit, and am i just being paranoid?

i just recently bought a new 07 prius and im not getting 50 or 60mpg like toyota advertises. I drive really really conservatively, (if you drove behind me you would over take me and flip me off and youll be really pissed cuz i accelerate really slowly) even then i only get like 45mpg. I dont drive faster than 65 mph on the freeway either. and for the most part i dont have the ac on. How much mph are you guys getting? and i heard some ppl r suing toyota for this. can i do that? i spent a lot of money for this and im really dissapointed.

The motor has been missing for a while, and I've noticed a loss of power (somewhat gradual). Constantly quits now. When the problem first happened, we were up and running, and it just died. I've been able to get it running since, but it wasn't ever the same. Now 3 cylinders are at 90 psi, one is 0. I'm trying to figure if it is likely a ring, or reed valve (or something else??).

My truck looses power, when i give it more gas to compinsate for the loss of speed it feels like it bogs down. It actually feels like it slows down. I then have to floor it until it shifts to passing gear and it is then that it starts to finally gain some speed. Also I have to let up on the gas before it will shift. I've changed the fuel filter.

I had my insurance policy cancelled due to late payment ,i found this out only after i had a major car crash,i calledm y agent and he said just pay up now and you will be fine.so i made my payment right away and after a week after my accident information came up ,the insurance company is telling me due to delayed payment they will review and consider if they are willing to pay for my damages.
I did not get a letter or mail of any form saying my policy was cancelled in addition i have an active policy right now so its only a slight delay on payment. How do i negotiate with the insurance company if they are unwilling to pay?
This is a big crisis and i am ready to give more details if someone wants to know more before taking a shot at this.
Tomorrow i need to call back Allstate on this and find out if they have reviewd and accepted my request.
Ofcourse they can bend the rules is what my agent said. Me talking to higher officials would help??
Please do read and respond.

Yet another Explorer question. Please note: this has only happened twice. It only happens upon inserting the key into the ignition w/o cranking. It has happened before and after the cruise control recall. The smoke comes out of the hazard lights button (surrounding hole) and the cruise control stick (surrounding hole). HELP!!!!! Akins Ford in Winder, GA says it's unrelated to the recall. I've heard it's the multifunction switch. Thoughts?

They are advertised on TV for $25 each. These plugs claim to put out 1M watts of electricity, resulting in better fuel consumption and higher performance. Do you think this is a gimmick? Wouldn't something with that high electricity hasten damage to the pistons?

I was told the Vue has a timing chain not a belt. Never needs replaced. Spark plugs don't have to be changed until 100K miles too? Does this sound kosher to you guys? Any other American cars out there have the same or is this something new? Any websites give that kind of nitty gritty info?

I live in NY State. My son is 19 and just got his license. He lives on college campus and only will be driving my car when he comes home to visit on weekends. Do I still need seperate insurance coverage for him?

Afer doing extensive research on many cars I finally found the one I want. Ok guys I really want a newer model Audi A6 3.2 Quattro. Everyone has there dream car, this is mine. I work hard and hardly spoil myself, I always put everyone else infront of me. I really want a pre-owned certified used 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro with atleast 30,000 miles on it, because I can't spend that much.

What advice would you give me to not get overpriced for a used Audi, and how much would a used Audi cost with around 30,000 miles on it?

Also how much would insurance be, like give me a close number to your knowledge.

Any general tips on financing, extended warranties, insurance cost, please I would really appreciate. Thank You!! I was thinking of a BMW but I like the Audi's better.

Alex

I had this problem last winter (when I tend to use the heater the most!), and never addressed it. Now that winter is coming up, I figured I should probably have the problem fixed. Whenever I have the heater running in my 2003 Jeep Liberty, the blowing air is hot only when I'm accelerating. If I have the car in park, or if I am idling in traffic/stop light, etc., the air gets cold almost immediately. Now, I'm no expert, but I always thought heat was drawn from the engine, thereby making the air a little hotter when idling - not freezing cold. Could it be something simple like a fuse, or something that my somewhat-handy husband could fix? Or might it be a bigger problem that will require professional servicing? On the most frigid of Denver mornings last year when I was desperate to regain sensation in my hands and feet, I actually had to throw the car in neutral and gently push the accellerator when I was sitting in traffic - which I'm sure is not entirely healthy for the car.

I just bought a 2005 Maxima, and the remote, the one that locks, unlocks, sets my alarm off, is not programmed for my car. The dealership wants $50 to do it and a friend told me its so easy, and he did his cars remote himself(he has a Honda tho)...Anyone know how I can do it?

Rather than relying on the service station attendant to do it for them?

If men can do it for themselves, why can't women?

I am going overseas for one year and quite not sure what to do with my car. I can either ask my friend to drive it once a week or store the car for a year. What is the best way to store a car and what are the details I need to know to properly take care of the car while I am gone? Thanks
