As a business, the same as every other business... to make money. I wish I could buy a GM, Ford or Chrysler, I like the idea of supporting my brothers here, but honestly their engineers are designing crap! I love working on Toyota's, they're designed to be so much easier to work on. When you can tell me 1 good reason why brakes on a GM Cavalier don't last more than 30,000km I'll buy American again. Or why a Ford Steering rack fails? Or why I must remove the entire engine to replace the back set of plugs on a Chrysler?
Or why I must remove a motor mount, hoist the engine then struggle for 30 minutes to replace a serpentine belt. Then maybe I'll look at buying another domestic.
Mechanics want easier cars to work on, Toyota has answered that call! The other big 3 are still fighting over who gets the remote. I'm sorry, but I won't be held hostage by any guilt. If you want my HARD EARNED MONEY, you will have to build a better car!
