I have a Pathfinder and the heat shield is causing a rattle when the vehicle is idle. A co-worker who also has a Pathfinder said he just ripped his off because it's not necessary.

Wait,,,Now I asked about me living in FL and my car title being in my name (title being ownership) and wanting to just register the car in someone elses name for insurance purposes). When I lived in NY my car was titled in my grandmothers name (who was in her 80's at the time and never drove a day in her life) but I registered it in my name with my insurance. So you are telling me that in FL I cant do this?

I bought a used diesel beetle with about 85,000 miles. I was told i should get around 50+ MPG, but so far the best I've gotten is 47. Mostly around 44. I drive 90% highway at speeds around 70. It's a manual transmission. Do I have a problem? Should I be getting better mileage? How can I improve the mileage. I know all the basic fixes and have done them all. Is there something else i need to have checked? What does anyone think about additives to the diesel that clean and such? Thank sto anyone that can help.

I just bought my car the other day and I cannot stand my day running lights already. I asked my salesman if I can turn them off, he said no, but that is definitely a lie. Does anyone know how? Or do I have to bring the car to the service guys?

A guy crashed into a tree after "losing control" after his gas pedal "got stuck" after going over a second speed bump.

Somehow he turned left right after the speed bump, went over the sidewalk, over the front lawn of the corner house, across the street and into a tree.

He was NOT driving a muscle car with a carb. He was driving a small beater with fuel injection.

He put the passenger in the hospital for a month, he wasnt drunk or high. He claimed his gas pedal got stuck. Can't you hit the brakes shift to neutral or turn the engine off?

i have just had my car stolen and was wandering if it was worth claiming on. It is insured for £2500 and they are willing to right it off and pay up but I have a new car that I need to get insurance for. My cheapest qoute is £450. Anyone have a rough idea how much my insurance would go up if I claimed for my old car?? Basically... should i just accept my losses on the old car or claim. cheers

When I pulled into my parking spot (and killed the engine) at work this morning I was greeted by a lovely plume of steam rising out of the hood. Turns out when I popped the hood I was dealing with a pin prick type (though a little larger) leak in the radiator hose.

I am right across from an auto parts store and need to buy at least a day before I lose the car to the shop. Do they have anything that I (note: I am not mechanically inclined) can use to patch the leak?

Also, it seemed like I lost a pretty good amount of fluid, do I need to replace some of that in the radiator? And - dumb question - if so, what do I replace it with? Water, antifreeze, mixture???

Are these permanent fixes or do I need to get the hose replaced? What's the damage $$?

Thanks.

We have a 98 DGC and recently it has been stalling on us. It has done this 3 times all when taking a right hand turn (coincidence?) Sometimes the car starts again but most of the time we have to leave it sit for hours before getting it to go again. The shop did not find any error codes. Any ideas? Fuel pump?

Will they cover any damage done to my engine by overheating you think as well? (such as skimming the head or replacement of whatever)

I was told they will pay up to $50 of the tow bill by the dealership.

2000 Subaru impreza outback, standard transmission, had it in for a check engine light 3 times and been told each time it's the knock sensor. now the check engine lite is on permanently. I need to do SOMETHING so that if the engine really DOES go bad I will know. What will happen if I opt to have the sensor removed and NOT replaced?

and I blew one the other day which caused me to damage the head of my engine, would Toyota be pay for a new head to my engine or atleast the repair of whatever damage was caused by the faulty head gasket on recall?

should they also pay the tow bill?

what if I was informed of this recall by the dealer when I was there a two months ago, but didnt have time and didnt expect this to happen right after?

Will I not be able to get them to cover any damage then?

why so?
