I just bought my car the other day and I cannot stand my day running lights already. I asked my salesman if I can turn them off, he said no, but that is definitely a lie. Does anyone know how? Or do I have to bring the car to the service guys?

It's a law in other countries, but not the US. And I don't want them because there really isn't a need for them. It's sunny during the day when they're on, they're pointless. My family just bought 3 new cars and mine is the only one with DRL. So I was just curious.

On my civic 2007 it is fuse #37. I just removed it and DRL are off now. This way it keep the lights life longer and also make more sense not them have it on in the bright sunny days look stupid.
For accords look in the manual where electric schema is and find the fuse for DRL and remove it thats all.

those lights fixtures purely annoy the bejeebus outta me. shrink the wires or pull the fuse or disconnect battery and alternator/generator or pull out the bulbs in sunlight hours. while i'm using my 2006 Honda I allways see the lights fixtures and that they blind me. There orta be yet another regulation which will overwite the present regulation that replaced into enacted to generate money for the previous regulation that allowed for extra defense force spending and that regulation replaced into supercceded by ability of the unique regulation that made it alright to apply Oil Lamps as working lights fixtures and those have been risky reason a forrest hearth ought to ensue that would have destroyed the rustic and the city that made the vehicle and the lights fixtures that we pay lots to maintain as a manner to maintain the Capalitistic gadget that we cherish with God on our area and ought to take care of it from the freethinkers that choose a house. Consumerism ROCKS!

That's like asking "How can I turn off my anti-lock brakes" or "I hate that 3rd brake light" or "My airbag is ugly, how can I get rid of it."

Even on a bright sunny day DRLs help differentiate your car from the cars in front and behind you at a distance. Just look a mile or two down the road on a clear day, guess which cars are noticeable? The ones with DRLs. Also, they help people see your car with their peripheral vision. Considering that people are talking on their cell phones, eating, drinking, listening to thumping music and watching movies in their cars, don't you want your car to be MORE visible to others, rather than less?

Just my opinion.

Runing lights are required by law in most areas so no, you cannot turn them off (or if you do you may end up paying for it). Running lights serve to increase visibility and therefore reduce accidents. As such they may help to reduce your insurance rates and keep you safe. You did not say why you do not want them so maybe you can post addtiional information to clarify this.
