Will they cover any damage done to my engine by overheating you think as well? (such as skimming the head or replacement of whatever)

I was told they will pay up to $50 of the tow bill by the dealership.

Recalls are tricky. If it is a defective part and you have been notified by Toyota, they will also give you information on what, if anything you can do or have done about the situation. If there is a true recall, they are asking owners to bring their vehicles in to have the part replaced. Once a recall has been sent out, it is your responsibility to have the part replaced before any damage is done.

They should actually, but trust me you have high hopes in this happening, they'll swap the gasket, and that's it, unless the car is still under warrantee.

If it is a factory defect then it should be covered. If not can you spell Law Suit.
