In the past two years of living in the Southwest, I have experienced random road rage three times.....all by older Hispanic males. Just a few days ago, I was driving my white Jeep only to have yet another older respectable-appearing Hispanic driving a new SUV make gestures and cuss me out. Out of curiosity, I followed him to a parking lot only to have him jump out, continue cussing me out and speaking nonsensically. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. I have nothing on my car, drive safely, and I'm just a 30ish clean-cut white Joe-American. Can anyone offer an explanation?

I am playing a game which simulates Medieval Europe in the from 1080-1260, and I am trying to add some realism. I think that this game horribly underestimates how far a ship can travel in a year. I was wondering if some history buff knows about how far an average ship from that time period could travel in a year through the waters of the Mediterranian, or the Atlantic Coastline.

An answer to just that would be great, but just in cast there is some highly knowledgeable person out there I'll list all the ships in the game in so you can list specifics for each one.

Dhow, Cog, Viking Longboat, Galley, Ladya, Dromon, Holk, Dragon Boat, War Galley, Fire ship, Caravel, Lanternas, Galleass, Baghlah, and Carrack.

Thank you very much!

Ok So there's this guy thats selling a car...Which will be my first car[I'm 16 yay!!!]... Here's the stats:

-96 Mitsubishi Galant
-Transmission broken [Therefore its not drivable]
-AC/Heat works
-4 door [passenger side door slightly broken]
-Paint fading slightly
-Battery works but is uncharged
-Power windows and locks
-Leather seats clean interior
-All this for $350

My dad is a mechanic and can get a used transmission for under $200 and he says he can fix the door...All the battery needs in a boost...I don't know the mileage though...Do you think its a good deal?

...for racing. I got two of em, one bored sixty over with no core shift, align bored with steel splayed main caps. I was gonna use the stock crank(10/10 & steel!) with H beam PF steel rods & KB hyperutectic pistons for a 412 ci package. I'm thinking now of a stroker in the range of 427+ ci. Problems seem to center on the small base camshaft & rod bolt clearance which can be accomadated, barely! My question is the durability of the 400 block bored to this tolerance. When a higher compresion like 13:1+ Mahle pistons is considered, FF H beam rods NOS & 8000 RPM my concern is block fatigue. Even if I fill the lower part of the water jackets with block filler a combo like this may well tweak the block & my wallet. I got a hot deal on it as the block was free as well the machine work. Problem is a GM rocket block or after market block will be consideribly stronger, & cam & block clearance problems are gone, plus even bigger ci combos. Cost shoots to the moon also!!! Comments welcomed!

so many people die when a car gets submerged - they have to figure a way to get the people out if that ever happens? maybe through the bottom somehow? or something? look at the bridge disaster - the people in the cars died, no way out - depending on the kind of windows I guess. just bothers me that people die when they probably dont' need to.

I am trying to decide if to commute or to split households and live in a different city from my husband (young couple, no kids). I'm starting a new job soon, and the commute time would be about 1 hour 15 minutes one way. I've commuted at different times 45 minutes and 1 hr in the past, but at most 4 days a week. I'm not sure about doing 1:15 5 days a week... and we would need to get a better car too... but would it be worth saving a little money and time to be living apart? What do you think? (Thanks in advance for any thoughts.)

or would I be better off with a repair manual. I looked up under general motors and looks like can't get one from them on line. Can I get one from a dealer and would it be a lot higher there? thanks for any advice.

Had my toyota camry with 121,000 miles checked out at a toyota dealership for having a check engine light on.
I found out I need a new catalytic converter. The toyota dealership said it will cost $1000 for the cat. converter and labor. The car is only worth $3,000! They told me to leave it alone since the engine runs great and it wont ruin the engine. The said the main job of the cat converter is to cut down on emissions. They said a bad converter wont harm the engine. Is that true? I love my car.
Florida doesnt have emissions tests they said dont worry about fixing it.
I still want to fix it. I want my car running perfect. That darn check engine light annoys me.. Where can I get a cat. converter for cheap? Junk yard? Toytota told me not to put a aftermarket converter on because it may screw things up. I can do it myself if I can find the part for cheap.

Please help.

thanks.

Please confirm if these 2 tips regarding gas conservation are facts or myths:
1. staying/shifting to a lower gear, NEUTRAL specially, will stretch gas mileage.
2. Not using the car airconditioner will stretch gas mileage.

Any real and tested truths regarding vehicle gas conservation?

it seems stupid to buy any other personal aircraft than a lancair if the prices on lancair.com are true, a new 172 costs like $400000 and doesnt perform nearly as well. so are these prices real and what would it cost to have them help you build it or just do it themselves

Well I'm looking to get some new tires for my 2002 Camry with 16" non stock rims. I need to get them ASAP. What brand would you recommend for everyday commuting (and I'm not looking to spend a ridiculous amount.) I know different brands make all different tires but in general what's the best way to go? Is it worth paying that extra $30 per tire to move up to the big brands such as goodyear and michellin. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, are there any offbrands that are high quality? Maybe something made by one of the big brands but sold as another.

Ok, so I'm going back to work (Part-time) and so there will be a need for a 2nd carseat for our 12 month daughter. Here's the thing. My husband wants me to look at yard sales for a car seat... I dont think so... I dont know if that car seat was involved in an accident or not (which makes them void per safety standards) or how clean another family was, I'm wierd like that, I think of diaper blow outs, puking, sippy cups leaking etc... so I was talking to my mom, and she gave me a $50 towards a 2nd car seat. Am I wrong to want a new one, or should I just make the hubby happy and get a yard sale car seat?!?!?!?
I know this sounds stupid, but it's really bothering me. It's not about money to me, it's about safety, but to him it's about money since its a 2nd seat and I'm only working part time.
Good grief, someone help me lol
THANKS!
