simple. put the battery cables to one battery just like any other application. put the trolling motor + to the same + as the starter cable. put the trolling motor - to the negative on the second battery. take a jumper from the - of the first battery to the + of the second battery and voila! you got it.

You have to have 2 independent systems, As the 24 volt can't be wired to the 12 volt charging system 24 volt only charged when on shore power>?

you will need 2 batteries and a 2 bank charger , i solenoid and a switch , wire the 2 batteries in series with the solenoid cutting the middle power so when you activate it you will have 24 volts and using a 2 bank charger will be able to charge the 2 batteries when the solenoid is off , example:

batery 1 = normal connections
bettery 2 = from the negative post hook it up to the positive post on battery 1 , using battery 1 negative and battery 2 positive should give you 24 volts , use the dual bank charger or isolator to charge both batteries ,

you could talk to an auto electrician about a series parallel switch a lot of heavy vehicles run on 14 volt but have 24 volt starter motors

You use both when installing a car stereo. For installing aftermarket CD players, these are the colors on the units harness: 12+ constant is the yellow wire . 12+ switched is the red wire. Ground is the black wire.

you may run independent system,s.....using a resistor to decrease charging voltage to the ignition circuit......or run all 24 volt .....then decreasing voltage to the ignition coil.

go to the nearest boat dealer and make a new friend of one of the boat mechanics ---- learn from him and tell up front what you need ............. good luck ... i read all the other answers and i am not sure that you got good info --- the boat mech. deals with this stuff and you do not want to screw-up your rig .. ... ...
