I was told by a mechanic that suggested to me " Buy mobil 1 oil next time you do your oil change...I'll almost guarantee your high mileage engine will smooth right out, and be quiet again. and you never need to do an oil change again...because it's the best synthetic oil you can buy, guaranteed for the life of your car or xxxxxx miles, just change the filter about every three months or so, depending on how often you drive, and you'll be good to go anywhere." Does this sound like truth, or is this guy feeding me a line of bull...it's not like he was trying to sell me anything, because he only works in a garage, he doesn't own one. And he's best friends with my Father who was Certified Mechanic by trade for over 40 years. It's not that I don't wan't to believe him...but I never heard of an oil you don't have to change? Please help me with suggestion's on changing the oil of my 1990 Pontiac Sunbird with 2.0L Fuel Injected

If insurance denies the claim can you then try to sue the driver?

I was in an accident in June and my insurance denied the other driver's claim, now I get a letter threatening to sue me for $1400.

Can they do this?

I recently took my honda lawm mower apart and asked for help. Now I can't get it to start. One of the anwers I received was to align the "horizon lines" on the cam gear along the edge of the head. What does this mean? What are the horizon lines? Can you explain this more fully. and or give my a diagram how to do this? You also said to bring the piston to the Top Dead Center. There is only one way to put the piston in. I did change the spark plug, and air cleaner. Help!!!

Ok were getting a 97 ford taurus off her sister. Since were just dateing they wont let me put it in my name so it has to go in hers. But insurance for me is around 130 a month where its 200 sumthing for her. So we need to know what if any companys will let me put insurance on the car, and the car its self be in her name.

ok, i have a 67 chevy and my valve (*sp) covers are chrome. but they have gotten sprayed by transmission fluid, and oil a long time ago. anyhow, its stuck on there pretty good. i cant get it off by just rubbing it with rags, is there anyway to get it off without scratching the chrome all up? the stuff thats on it is a red tint. thats what makes me think its trans. fluid. but it also kinda looks like paint overspray. but if i rub really hard, i can get some of it off. so idk. can somebody help me?

It seems to me, if you put 2 4 cylinder DOHC engines together you could make an 8 without having to make a whole new engine. Line them up, back to back, or shall I say front to front. Top it with a long finned aluminum cam cover with a big bulge in the center that covers all 4 of those gears on the ends of the camshafts. Attach a transmision to each end and make a 4 wheel drive, then cover it with a body that looks like the great ALFAs of the 30s. Make a nice conversation piece.

My neighbour's outside with a battery charger attached to his battery ( for the last 2 hours) cause he says it's dead. But the hood light is lit, and when he tried firing it up, all it did was make a clicking sound. I said maybe it's the starter, but he doesn't think so. What's the problem?

Ok, so I'm going to be getting an 08 rabbit pretty soon and am looking at some engine mods.

I have heard of changing the Cold Air Intake and changing the exhaust, some other minor things as well.

What I was wondering is if I can put an air filter and a cold air intake together.

I have heard of a new CAI from a company called LNT, they claim that their CAI produces around 15-20 hp?

So... could I combine the two to produce more hp and torque? Or would it be wasted money?

Do anybody besides me read the article that said that SUV's kill 10,000 + Americans a year due to rollover accidents ,that those 10,000+ deaths represent 1/3 of all US traffic deaths despite the fact that SUV accident represent only 3% of all traffic accidents. That's an 11:1 ratio
Having driven the 3-D roads of the West and seen the deadly handling characteristics of SUV's up close, I have no doubt that many of those fatal accidents were single vehicle accidents caused by the vehicle.
I also have no doubt that many of those rollover accidents and near accidents that didn't result in fatalities scared the crap out of a lot of drivers.
Where is the public outrage ? Where are all the letter to our Congressmen demanding that we get these death machines of our roads NOW!!
Where's Ralph Nader when we actually need him ?
WTF is wrong with us ?
