Ok were getting a 97 ford taurus off her sister. Since were just dateing they wont let me put it in my name so it has to go in hers. But insurance for me is around 130 a month where its 200 sumthing for her. So we need to know what if any companys will let me put insurance on the car, and the car its self be in her name.

yes. i have my van put in my name, and insurance in my husbands because its cheaper. They didnt need proof of anything.

No, you cannot insure a car you do not own. You still need to be on her insurance if you plan on driving the car. Some people here will tell you it's the "car" thats insured and you won't need to be on the policy. Don't believe it. Check with her insurance company.

Yes, you can put the insurance in your name but be sure to add your girlfriend to the insurance policy otherwise if she is involved in an accident your insurance company won't pay for the damages because she is not listed on the policy.

Whoever is the legal owner of the car must be listed on the insurance.

The name on the insurance has to match the title, and the driver's license. She can add you as a driver.

No the Registration and insurance card have to match .Although you can go on as a second driver.

It is probably not possible. But talk to a few insurance agencies; the worst that can happen is that they say No.
