Would risers be the solution?

Have you tried adjusting them yet?
Loosen the clamp bolts. Then, sitting on the cycle, roll them bac towards you. Once you find a spot that feels comfortable, tighten the clamps. Then go for a test ride. You may want to tweak them a few times until they are just right. I find that what looks good in the driveway doesn't always feel right on the road.
If adjusting doesn't do it, then look into risers or different bars.

Cheap and easy loosen the 4 bolts on risers; push forward on bars, retighten bolts.
Expensive replace bars or risers. This will result in getting all new cables and adding some wiring, however it is the better solution.
