Yes, it is normal. The cooling system is a pressurized system. As the coolant heats it expands and will exit the radiator if the cap is off. In normal conditions with the cap on, the coolant boils at a higher temperature and if the pressure becomes too high the cap vents the excess pressure into the coolant recovery bottle. When the engine cools down, a small vacuum is caused by the drop in pressure and reduction in volume of the coolant causing the radiator to draw the liquid back out of the recovery bottle.

Yes it,s perfectly normal. As the antifreeze get hotter it expands and will come out of the radiator if the cap is off. That,s what the overflow tank is for to let the coolant flow back and forth as the coolant heats and cools.

This is normal. Water expands as it gets hot. When the radiator cap is left on the excess water goes into the reserve tank. Likewise if the cooling system needs fluid it will draw it out of the reserve tank. That's the way the system is designed. If there is a leak in the system such as the cap being off then the excess fluid will drain out through the leak instead of going into the reserve tank

Wow when you heat coolant it rises up and out the cap. Exactly like it should? That is why there is a 14 or more pound per square inch pressure cap on that cooling system. Please never remove a pressure cap while the engine is hot...

Yes that is normal. That's what the overflow jug is for. With the cap on the extra water will run into the overflow jug.

Of course. Its a pressurized system. If theres a leak (or an opening) thats why fluid comes out.
