I reset my truck's timing by finding TDC of the compression stroke of cylinder 1 by following the instructions of a GM tech on Yahoo answers. By following his instructions I was able to start my engine easier (it barely cranks before starting) and my engine runs smoother. However, when I put a timing light to it, it shows Cylinder 1 as firing a whole second before the line hits TDC. I made sure with a piece of yarn that the V matched up with the TDC mark. But I figured I may have made a mistake, so I moved the harmonic balancer's mark in line with the V on the timing plate cover again and I took off the cap of the distributor and it was 180 degrees off. It was pointing towards terminal 5 instead of terminal 1 like it was suppose to. So I figured I made a mistake, aligned the rotor back with one, put everything back together and it started fine and ran smoothly, but it still fired 1 second before the line hit the V. I took it apart and it was 180 out again.

My clutch side grip on my gsxr is coming loose. I've heard WD40 will do a good job of making them stick... I've tried spraying wd40 inside the grip and letting it dry overnight, but it doesnt work at all. What else can I use besides hairspray and grip glue?

What type of sound will it make if the starter is bad ?? and what type of sound if the alternator is bad ?? I need to have an idea, before having my car towed to a shop, when I turn the key, I hear a rapid click or rattle sound, and the car wont crank

I have a 2004 Cavalier LS Sport Sedan ( with the factory rear ground effect), which I would like to install a hitch receiver on. Preferable a Hitch manufactures by Hidden Hitch.
They list 2 models for my application, Model 60864 & 60973.

Has anyone had one of these installed on their LS Sport?
...If so, did you have to cut the rear ground effect to get it to work? Which model do you have installed??? Is it fairly hidden when the ball is removed????

I am looking for fact supported answers, not the usual my car is great all other cars suck opinion based answer. I own a 2004 cobra but recently I have really started to like the 98 tt supras. With my cobra, it came stock with a built engine that is good up to 800-1000hp without worring about the engine having any problems. Does the supra have a built engine or do you have to add to it to make it safe for high hp levels. Also, what is the cost and what needs to be done to put down between 500 and 600rwhp? No nitrous please. Can you do this with the twin turbos the supra comes with or do you have to buy new ones? Like I said please answer with fact based answers not what your friend told you or what you saw on some other guys car.

Okay, I'm looking to purchase a car, usually I go through people, but I happened to find a great deal at a dealership. I don't want to have any payments, so I'm doing it cash and the car is $3250.00, it's in good condition. A camaro. Obviously dealers are going to make a profit with whatever price they put out there, so what do you think I should talk him down to?

I know this is unorthodox, and I honestly understand if you just ignore me, but I am writing to you in the hopes that you can avert a disaster in my family. My uncle passed away last year and he left behind a bunch of bikes, that are tearing my family apart. Among the 7 or so bikes, that are custom and built by hand by my uncle, is a 1940s Harley Davidson FlatHead/Knuckle Head that we have to liqudate to take care of bills. The execative of his estate has been trying to sell these bikes, but he had a hard time finding someone who would evaluate them. One guy out of california did it, and said the entire lot of bikes is worth only 27k. Now I know you haven't seen them or anything, but this breaks my heart. They are worth much more than that. There are those in the family who are upset about the money. I just don't want to see my grandfather(execative) get ripped off...if I send you pics, will you help me? WAS IN AN ACCIDENT(HIT FROM BEHIND AT STOP LIGHT)3 WEEKS AGO. I WAS ON THE PHONE W/THE 911OPERATOR WHEN THE OTHER DRIVER AT FAULT SAID SHE WAS GETTING OUT HER INSURANCE PAPERS. SHE SAID SHE WOULD PAY ME FOR THE DAMAGES. NOW AFTER I HAVE GOTTEN HER 2 ESTIMATE SHE NOW IS SAYING SHE'S NOT GOING TO PAY ME DIRECTLY, SHE WANTS ME TO TAKE MY CAR IN & HER PAY THE SHOP. I have a 1993 Dodge Sprite, 4 cyclinder automatic transmission, around 140,000 miles. I was driving the car today and noticed it started making a whining sound whenever I press the accelerator.

It's hard to describe the sound, but the best thing I can say is it sounds something like the old electric RC cars that I played with as a kid. It gets louder the harder the accelerator is the pushed.

It doesn't seem to be a wheel noise or anything. Because the car will do it if I have it stopped and in park or neutrel and I press the accelerator.

I don't know much about cars. So I checked the fluid levels, transmissions fluid was really low, oil was low. I topped those both off. But I still have the noise.

I am replacing the car soon anyways. But I want to drive it as long as I can (I've had it for years and am attached) any ideas?

Citroen Saxo.... yesterday battery ran flat( car been running ok till then) Had battery on charge overnight, back on car, started first go..... gone out for a good run round ( about 10 miles) on way back things like speedo, wipers, power steering playing up now car stopped & wont start again! Modern airliners, such as the new model of the Boeing 747, only produce 75g of CO2 per passenger Km. Most modern cars produce over 150g of CO2 per passenger Km. How is flying worse than driving? I do realise that cars can carry more than 1 passenger, but most of the time I don't think they do.

Whats the fastest you have ever had your GT? (i hope those who answer do this on the track and not the street)

Alright So I Have Really Curly Hair And I Love Dirtbiking, And Being A Women I Like To Look Good At The Same Time. But After A Hard Day Of Riding I Take Off My Helmet And My Hair Is A Mess! I;ve Tried Straightening It But I Get All Hot And Sweaty With Frizzes Out My Hair And Makes It Look Even Worse.
