ho mate sounds like your alternator is at fault, check that the belt is still on it , if it is then check it with a multimeter .
if its the belt then it will be only about a tenner for the beltand about 15 mins to fit there easy to do.

Is the battery flat again? Try (in this order):
1. Alternator drive belt
2. Charging circuit - did the ignition warning light (charging light) come on while you were on your 10 mile drive?

The condenser is part of the distributor on older cars that enhanced the spark. Yours presumably has electronic ignition and may not have a condenser as such.

Is there a mobile mechanic in your area who could come and give you an estimate?

Sounds like ur battery has had its day. My son has a Saxo and he had similar probs, I told him repeatedly that his battery was u/s, in ther end he bought a new battery and now all is well.

Now b4 u go out and buy a new battery, have ur battery tested, it wont cost u a penny but may save u a fortune if it shows that the battery has had it.

Good luck

could be that the alternator has packed up and not putting charge back into battery........Charge the battery again and start the car...put on headlights close to a wall so you can see their light on the bricks...rev the engine...if the lights get brighter when you rev then the alternator is OK...if they don't then its new alternator time...bout £70 odd quid (sometimes cheaper) and an easy do it yaself job......good luck mate.

Perhaps the alternator is not charging correctly. If so I think it would need a new one. If you don't know, take it to the garage and be done with it. They will know straight away and have it fixed quickly, if they're any good.
