In the vehicle handbook usually towards the rear you will find a list of recommended lubricants, best be guided by this, if no handbook available , most synthetic multigrade oils should be OK, don't buy cheap, expect to pay around £20 for 4'5 litres (1 gallon) change oil filter at the same time, Probably best left to a garage unless you fancy crawling beneath the car, some garages will do an oil & filter change for around £25 £30 money well spent

If you have an owners handbook it will give you that information.
Only hint I can give is that I have a 406 hdi diesel. Oil is 10w-40 semi synthetic.

if you can find it use miller XFE semi synthetic its brilliant oil your car will run smoother
