Okay, I'm looking to purchase a car, usually I go through people, but I happened to find a great deal at a dealership. I don't want to have any payments, so I'm doing it cash and the car is $3250.00, it's in good condition. A camaro. Obviously dealers are going to make a profit with whatever price they put out there, so what do you think I should talk him down to?
Thanks!

How much do you have??? if you are paying in cash and have the cash with you when you go the deal should go along alot better also reamember you have to pay taxes and registation fees... so a little more will be added on to the price ... you can probly try to talk them down close to 2500.00

As low as you can get the car to. First, check the kbb for the price the dealer would have offered the previous owner (this assumes the previous owner didn't get taken for a ride). You can be sure the dealer didn't pay a penny over this price. Then, look at what the dealer suggested price is. The difference between prices is the mark up. You have every right to try and get the price as close to the trade-in value as possible, and the dealer will fight to stay at the suggested retail price.

If they aren't playing, then get up and start walking. They will stop you. If they don't, then they will call you the next day and tell you they've decided to come down in price. Just don't forget, as long as you hold the money, you are in the drivers seat for negotiations. Once the papers are signed, then you've transfered your power away.

If you have a trade-in dont' tell them.... Just bring it in....Also, go as low as possible, what's the worst that can happen.?. .If you don't ask you don't get..! Look at the blue book pricing and go from there... Take it for a test drive for acouple days and have it checked out by a good honest mechanic and note any repairs it needs.. good luck

I would go to www.kbb.com and figure out the "wholesale" price, then print out the page that shows the value, take it to the dealer and say "how about $300 over this?"

I bet that's less than $3,250 by quite a bit.
