Cars & Transportation - 19 June 2007

My mom gave it to me a week ago. It's in good condition. No stratches, no dents. It's almost brand new. The carpet needs to be shampooed, though. The AC does not work, though. Are there any re-calls or anything major I should be aware of? By the way, this is my first car.

I work for the police department; therefore, I can takea ride-along with the PD helicopter and check out what they do and go after bad guys! So I was really excited about that. But a co-worker of mine just went up with them and she said that it was like riding a rollercoaster for 2 hours! :o\ She said she wasnt too worried about it being up so high, but more worried about it making quick turns. She said she got a kinda of sick feeling in her stomach.

I'm ok when I go on planes, except if there is a lot of turbulence. But even then, i dont throw up. Do you think I will be ok for 2 hours on the helicopter? what if i take motion sickness pills beforehand? Any other tips/suggestions???

I really wanna go up, but not if im gonna be sick. ill never have this opportunity again though! :o\

... and now there's a wierd rattling sound when the car's on and in Park. It runs just fine, there's nothing wrong, I just want to know what it is. Nothing big or something bad? It's not loud, but it's very noticeable.

It's only happened twice, both this morning. I noticed it when I parked the car outiside my friend's house and I noticed the rattle. I turned off the car and restarted it and it was still there. Once we got going, it was fine. So, what is it?

couldn,t find any regulators within 100 miles but we did manage to get a door with electric window. someone told me that you could get a switch & hook it up. does anyone know what they are talking about & how to if hook it up if infact you can do such a thing? help

Here's what I know. When I hit the starter, the bike will fire right up (as long as I have the choke all the way out). If I attempt to give it any gas while in neutral it kills, if I attempt to put it into gear it kills, or if I attempt to put the choke in at all it kills. I've added some seafoam to the gas, I've even removed all the gas and gave it new (along with more Seafoam) but I still get the same results. I've let the bike idle for 5 or 10 mins without doing anything, and it still does the same thing. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

My parents have finally decided to let me buy a new car, and i was looking at an inexpensive SUV of some sort. I like the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Ford Escape but i don't know much about either of them. If you could give me the general stuff like mileage, dependabitlity and things like that it would be great! I just bought a used car and since my interest rate is 21% because of bad credit what are my options. $19,000 financed for 6 years. There is no prepayment penalty. After I get the loan my father in law says he would help. So can I have my father in law cosign for a loan and pay it off that way or do I try to refinance with him after payments are made. I have a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol and about 3 years ago had to have a new exhaust system fitted (NOT the catalytic converter). I opted for a genuine Ford exhaust and wondered roughly how long the exhaust should last.

I had both the battery and the alternator checked at AutoZone and they were ok. They said it might be the solenoid. At first it just clicked, but then somebody tightened a bolt on the solenoid and it was starting ok. Then, I left for a 3 day vacation and it won't start at all. It just makes a weird grinding noise, but the lights turn on and everything. Could the battery just not be holding a charge? Anybody have any ideas? It's a 1985 Mustang.
