is it possible that the fuel in Tesco burns quicker as i don't seem to get the same mileage from it

I have found that in the past too.
My 1991 Rover Metro preferred Texaco unleaded to other brands (went further on a litre)
My 1997 Rover 220SDi preferred Texaco diesel.
My 2003 Renault Megane 1.9dCi appears to prefer Shell diesel.

Yeah its possible and it is very likely as all petrol is made to slightly defferant specification ie BP Ultimate is totally differant to Shell Ultimax. It all goes of what addatives the manufacturer puts in, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Texaco all use the same supplier

I have found that if you press the right hand pedal down hard, the fuel gets used up quicker .

Not really as it comes from a BP refineries which also supplies other retailers.

Doubt it, its refined to a standard. Have you had the car serviced
