can anyone here give me a decent explanation as to what street legal means?

street legal means that none of the mods on it cross the line... example: it has headlights, turn signals, license plate, D.O.T. approved tires, no beadlock rims, mudflaps(when necessary) no "off-road only" parts. even something as minor as noise level of your exhaust can make it illegal
it does NOT mean bone stock. although bone stock cars all are street legal.
look up easy street race cars on horsepower tv, they do 1/8 mile in 5 seconds and are street legal.

and will pass inspection by the local DMV........no racing slicks, all proper mirrors, lights, windows...
