I left the scene, which involved no vehicle but my own, to call for my cousin to come help me. The police picked me up in the meantime for leaving scene. Does insurance need to know that, or is that irrelevant to the fact that the car is wrecked?

Okay, so heres the story, I have a Toyota Rav4, that I bought in 2005, up until now the balance is $13,900 around there, and both me and my boyfriend want another car for me, since I've always wanted a small girly car, but how is the whole process of exchanging? Is it worth it? What happens to all the payments I made in the last two years?

I have a driving license (not G yet) since October 2005. I bought a brand new car in August 2006 and had an accident in a parking lot (I pressed gas instead of break and hit a wall). The damage was huge - around $6,000. My insurance company called me today and told me that they can't renew my policy with them due to the accident, and because I've been driving less than 4 yrs and don't have a G license yet. What can I do? Change an insurance company? Sell the car and buy old junk for now? Please help! Thanks :)

This is a 1986 Corvette. Sometimes the brake lights come on by themselves 5-10 minutes after I have parked the vehicle resulting in a dead battery. I've figured out that the problem has something to do with the master cylinder. I give it a smack on the end with a screwdriver and the lights go out, but if you wiggle the master cylinder slightly the lights come back on. I had my mechanic replace the power booster about 3 months ago but only noticed the light problem about 2 weeks ago. I don't drive the vehicle much at all but it makes me wonder if this is related to those repairs or if it is a separate problem. The reason that I think this is that I noticed that the electrical connector/warning switch on the master cylinder was loose. If that was done wrong, maybe there were other things done wrong. I tightened it and it seemed to make the problem go away but now the problem is back. What is happening here and is there a simple solution?

I drive a 2000 SS Camaro. I had a hard time getting the car into and inbetween gears just a few days ago. Now it's not as tough but it's making this grinding noise similar to that of a cat hiss, but lower in pitch. The noise comes only at low speeds, and when I'm slowing to a stop. I'm wondering if this is indicative of clutch failing to disengage. The grinding can be felt as vibration through the stick shift and hear quite audibly.

BTW, I'm quite positive it is not the brakes, b/c it happens even when the brakes are not applied.

Any ideas? If so, what will most likely need to be replaced and what is a typical cost?

Thanks in advance

In this auto and RV magazine I have (free one full of vehicles for sale), there is a full page ad for a place buying any and all brands of motorcycles. On one side there is a small starburst with the message "Harley owners cash out now before it's too late $$". What are they getting at when they say that? Anyone who frequesnts the motorcycles knows I'm not too keen on HD. Not trying to be a smartasss, what do they mean "too late"?

I had problems with the transmission disengaging over 30mph. It would go into gears fine and run great at lower speeds.

I had 3 sensors out on the car; camshaft position sensor, speed sensor and the range sensor. I have replaced the speed sensor and the range sensor.

Drove the car 50+ miles yesterday after replacing the sensors and the transmission didn't act up once. The CEL came back on with the camshaft position sensor.

Today, camshaft position sensor is no longer showing up, and both range sensor and speed sensor are showing up on diagnostic. The car is disengaging at over 40mph now.

WHAT is going on?

The question is when I call my insurance company, do I explain to them I got charged for leaving the scene of the accident when it was just to seek help? Or does that matter?

this has happened to me twice before. I had been driving the car for a while and it didn't happen until today.

Ok so I'm sitting at a red light. My car just shuts off completely - the engine and everything. I go to turn it back on and it won't - it stalls so I stop trying. I wait 30 seconds and try again and it turns on fine - drives fine.

1) I have had people tell me it could be my engine's idle speed - i know for a fact this is not the case because my engine idles at about 600-700 rpm which is normal for my car.

2) i have had people tell me it could be the battery. Ok but if this were the case wouldn't it not start back up. And how could a battery issue cause your car to shut off - i thought it couldn't only prevent you from turning it on..

now I had turned my radio up pretty loud right before it happened - but this i know is just coincidence because a month ago when it happened i didnt even have a radio in the car let alone turned on.
