The car has always run on the cool side, and out of nowhere the temp needle starts pegging 120, the radiator/overflow is full and looks decent with no leaks ... any ideas here guys (or girls)? Temp is 65 F. outside. Could it be the thermostat?

I have rims on my pontiac grand am and I live in a city with a lot of potholes. I've had to get my tires replaced like 5 times in the past year due to them just popping.. is there any way to make my tires a little stronger so they don't pop so much? Someone told me to put that fix a flat stuff in it even if it's not flat to make it stronger.

Driving to work today i hit a tube of silicone! It busted all over the side of my car and will not come off. I have heard to use WD-40 and also Lighter Fluid to remove it

what do you suggest?

I don't know why, but my dad's car (the one I'm using now) has a seperate 12 CD changer in the trunk instead of the front. It's a seperate area in the trunk where I can eject it, and a box comes out, and I can put my 12 CDs in there. It was fine I guess since it was 12 CDs, so I just packed my CDs in there and it was working fine.. until..

It got STUCK. As far as I remember, I was changing from CDs to CDs when it happend. I couldn't make up my mind, so I guess I ended up changing too quickly for the machine to comprehend and got stuck.

What can I do? My dad (since I know nothing about cars) is procrastinating about the situation, and I told him about it a few months ago. I'm really going crazy driving from place to place without anything good to listen to. I AT LEAST want to get my CDs out of there even if it means the CD player in the car remains broken.

Can anyone help? Tips? Advice?

I had my ignition replaced on it on Friday.. the guy told me he didn't have the device to reset the codes or something and that I should bring it back on Tuesday so he could finish it. I called him yesterday and he told me that after 50 starts it would reset itself. Is this true or is he just trying to not finish the job?

I am usually a real laid back, patient person, except for when I am driving. I hate the way people drive, and I have a serious case of road rage! What kind of things make you cuss people out in your car?

1. Not using your turn signals

2. Darting out in front of me, then driving slow

3. Driving slow period

4. Sitting at a red light where you can turn on red, but the person in front of you waits for the green light to turn. uugghh!

5. When people pull up on the right side of a car, but are not turning right. That stops the cars behind you who are actually turning right.

6. People who block the intersection

7. When I let you in front of me and you don't give me a "thank you" wave.

and last but not least:

8. Old People! I think there should be a federal law in place to make seniors re-take their drivers test when they turn a certain age. They just drive, and don't have a clue of whats going on around them.

The highway department is replacing all the signs along I-75 in my area. Even though the old signs were fine. The new ones are more reflective than any I've ever seen. Yesterday the sun hit the one on my exit ramp just right and the glare just about blinded me. When this causes a wreck can I sue he state?

My "door ajar" light is coming on, with the consequent problem that the dome light stays on for varying lengths of time while driving. I thought it used to be an obvious plunger switch somewhere in the door frame but I can't seem to find one. Anyone know where it is/how to fix it?

and if you do what year and color is it and if it has a paint job discribe it. I have a 2006 Pontiac GTO and I've had it up to 162mph. Mine has the factory motor in it( the LS2 corvette motor with 400hp), but no super-charger.So if yours has any bells and whistles on it that are non-factory please tell me what they are and how you like it. the car runs, it is primered black. It has a 429 7.0L big block. Power windows, seats. 2 door, Automatic, needs to be restored and lots of patience other than that its a great car.

Here's the situation:

I live on a gravel road.
There is very little traffic....about 20 cars a day.

But it's never maintained
My family has learned that the only way to keep the road in a decent condition is to drive slowly and avoid all of the pot holes that build up.
However, the family down the street (there are 3 houses on the road) doesn't slow down and doesn't avoid potholes
So they just get huge.
SO...
the road is always bumpy, and sometimes to the point that my car (2005 Acura RSX which is admittedly low to the ground) will bottom out
So now...unless I drive <10MPH, I’m risking damage to the car

WELL...being that its spring time, the road has been very wet and very muddy
For the past couple weeks we've all been risking getting stuck.
Last night...I was going about 25 mphs to get through all of the mud and the car was dragged into a rut in the center of the road which I couldn't get out of...so there I sat....stuck in the middle of the road.

I have a 95 saturn SL1, and last friday it over heated, but I noticed it was low on coolant and water so I added both, and it did fine but now the light on the dash by the temp gage is flashing you know the little water sign but it's not reading that it's hot. The gage is staying in the middle. So can it be that the thermostat is going out. Also like 1-2 weeks befor it startd doing this I had someone flush the radiator and they said my car had the green coolant in it but after flushing it they refilled it with the red kind. Can that be the problem? Sorry I know nothing about cars. Please only give me answers if you know about this problem. Thanks. Oh and by the way yes I'm still driving it, since it's not actually over heating and it's not leaking out the water or coolant.

does anyone know a probable cause for an astra only able to drive in second gear without me dropping the gearbox, suggestions are ok but i feel the gearbox may have to come out. i hope not, so any sdvice most welcome.

I have a 21 month old and a 12 year old. Obviously they are into different things; 21 month old-Doodlebops, 12 year old-video games, so we need two players. We were thinking about putting two DVD's in the Toyota Sienna, mounting them in the front headrests. However, we have heard they break down quite a bit, and do nothing for resale value. I've also been toying with mounting one on the ceiling, and then getting my son a DVD that straps onto the seat that he can use for games (and he can sit with a budy in the 3rd row and play), but I'm concerned about it becoming a lethal object if we were ever in an accident. HELP! What does everyone recommend?
