I don't know why, but my dad's car (the one I'm using now) has a seperate 12 CD changer in the trunk instead of the front. It's a seperate area in the trunk where I can eject it, and a box comes out, and I can put my 12 CDs in there. It was fine I guess since it was 12 CDs, so I just packed my CDs in there and it was working fine.. until..

It got STUCK. As far as I remember, I was changing from CDs to CDs when it happend. I couldn't make up my mind, so I guess I ended up changing too quickly for the machine to comprehend and got stuck.

What can I do? My dad (since I know nothing about cars) is procrastinating about the situation, and I told him about it a few months ago. I'm really going crazy driving from place to place without anything good to listen to. I AT LEAST want to get my CDs out of there even if it means the CD player in the car remains broken.

Can anyone help? Tips? Advice?

if you can get the unit out of the vehicle and on to a work bench, with out breaking anything thats attached to it, take off the top cover and gently push the cd tray out of the casing, and leave it out. underthe tray slide on the left side is a small drive belt that looks like a black rubber band, that would fit tightly around a rool of quarters, with out breaking it, gently remove it from the gears that is stuck into, take a tooth pick ant slip it over the drive pulleys that it came out of, and plug it in and reactivate the system to power the tray shut. unplug the unit, reassemble and replace in the car then try again to use the system. it should work fine the first time. go slowly or you`ll have to start over again.

Try slipping a credit card on the top or bottom of the CD cartidge with the radio turned ON, jiggle it around a little and the CD cartidge should release.

On some CD players, there is a small hole near the CD. Insert a pin into the hole and the CD should pop out.
