A 350 crankshaft has 3.48" stroke. A 400 crank, or aftermarket 383 crank is 3.75". You also have to make up the difference in the gain in stroke with either lower compression height pistons to use 5.7" 350 rods or you can use 5.565" 400 rods with 350 pistons, though I'd go with the former rather than the later. 400 rods are too short and yield a low rod/stroke ratio with quite a bit of cylinder wall side loading.

there isn't any important alterations between the two, they're the comparable backside end the only distinction is interior the bore and stroke. The 383 makes use of distinctive pistons and crank while in comparison with the 350. this permits an even bigger engine capacity interior the cylinders. this would not reason a important distinction in petrol regardless of what people would think of!

You can buy the stroker kits all ready to go from Eagle and others, that are balanced and shot peened The only way I'd use the stroker is in a heavy car or a truck. that would benefit from the extra torque.

Yes, but the 400 crank needs to be machined down around the bearing journals as the 350 has smaller diameter bearings.

There is alot more modification you have to make then simply changing the crankshaft. The best thing would be for you to look it up on the internet, this way you can learn more about it.
