You can request a 'build sheet' from Jeep that would help you figure out what model/trim might have been on your CJ originally.

Hi. It's not a Scrambler. A Scrambler is a CJ8. It could be either a:
Golden Eagle
Renegade
Sahara
or....none of the above.
I supplied a link for you to talk about Jeep stuff with people who are far more experienced than the majority of the folks here. Not a dig, a fact. Most people on the forum are those who eat, breath, and crap Jeeps. Real fanatics with a world of info, and friendly as well. When you own a Jeep, you become part of a brotherhood. It's almost cult-like. I realize that I haven't really answered your question, but I couldn't find the answer in any of my literature. The VIN has a special code in it to identify which Jeeps produced were factory Renegades, etc. If your Jeep has a 4 cylinder, it was not a special one as they put the inline six in the special ones. There were some special packages in the 90's that DID have special names such as 'Islander' and some others, but those were just trim packages. Oh, I know, there were some special edition 'Levis' Jeeps with denim seats and whatnot as well that had decals on them. I am putting a second link for a great company that sells everything Jeep (4WD Hardware). I've had a great experience buying parts from them over the years. Good Luck, have fun! Rob

It could be a RENEGADE, a SCRAMBLER a GOLDEN EAGLE or a LAREDO. I think that is all of them.

For decals, try this site:
