My wife even says that I have disgraced myself by hiring her and the customers just don't seem to wan't a woman to work on their cars. Is this the last line of work women can't break through. I ask before if anyone on here would let a woman work on their car and the response was 100% positive. But in the real world it just isn't that way. What if it really was your car and a girl was really fixing it. How would you feel. Please be honest.

got a computer diagnostic test done and they say nothing wrong with engine. only the sensor is dead. part cost 40 bucks, if i have them do it takes 1/2 hr charge $185, however, if i just want the part it will only cost me $40. how can they charge over 140 for 1/2 hr work???any know how?

I took my car to Sears and I got front brakes and 1 rotor. After I left my brake light started coming on periodically. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong. Now the light constantly stays on, does anyone know why?

People who have no idea of the correct way to drive an automobile on a good day insist on getting in a car when it is pouring down rain and drive 20 mph faster than they usually drive and somehow manage not only to have a wreck,but usually hurt somebody else also?...I am a cop and when it rains,I work,on average,4-6 accidents in a 12 hr shift,and it usually is some old,blind,deaf,or a combination of the 3 person who has no clue how to drive properly trying to "get to the store" or "going to my friends house"...in a blinding thunderstorm?anybody?

the money from the sale and the title to my trade-in is now being held in court because of some other legal issues. the dealer has "cashed" the contract, but they have threatened to have me charged with fraud, and take the vehicle back, although i have made 2 payments. i have shown all documentation that the court system is holding the money and title. can they go through what they threatened me with

I am a maintenace engineer on a type course for the Dash 8 100/200/300, with the associated Pratt engines (PW 120/121/120a ect) My background is CRJ's so I dont have a lot of experiance with the propeller systems. Anyway why when you start up do you put the propeller into full feather? This dosn't make any sense to me. It would make more sense to start the prop in disc mode, thus you don't load up the hubs, the gear box and other associated mechanisims. You also dont have to change the pitch while you are doing our runs, if your in full feather to change the pitch you have to go through the range of prop angle that produces thrust and gives you a potential break away situation. Anyone know why?

In LV, NV, cheapest gas (for regular) is 2.55 & most expensive (for regular) is 2.69 - that I've seen! Outrageous!!! And I don't buy cheap or regular gas ... It has to be Chevron, Shell or 76, supreme gasoline, which means I'm paying 2.89 a gallon! What's it like for the rest of the US?

I only have about $2618.00 left to pay on it with Ford, and of course I don't have the title until its paid off. I know I don't have many payments left, but I just want to get done with the payments, because I just recently transitioned into a stay at home mom, and my husband said he can just use my car. His car is the one that has 6-7 payments left. I mean even if someone handed me the $2618.00 to buy it, we would still have to work something out with Ford for the title or something. Can anyone pease tell me how to sell this car with remaining payments left on it?!

I have taken in my 99 Ply Voy SE to dealership for spark knocking. They replaced two vaccuum hoses and told me I need to have fuel injectors and throttle body cleaned for a grand total of about $320. I had them replace the hoses. I feel it may be the timing and they are just trying to get more money out of me. It spark knocks under light acceleration constantly. It only goes aways when I let completely off the gas or accelerate quickly. I have put two bottles of fuel systems cleaner in my gas tank in two separate fill ups. This has not helped. The van has 95,000 miles on it and runs fine otherwise.

So I took it to Midas. The guys said he thought it sounded like the exhaust pipe needed to be replaced, for about $149. Once they looked though, he revised his estimate up to $1200 for a "cracked manifold."

I don't have the money, so he told me to drive home and keep the car parked until I could afford the repair.

So my questions are: what's a manifold? Why so expensive? Why can't I drive it? Would it be dangerous?

I guess basically I want to know if I'm being ripped off... or if I can drive it awhile (in emergencies, for instance) while I save up for the repair. Thanks!!!!!

Hi, my 02 Ford Escape's steering wheel has been sqeeking very bad when I turn it to the right. I took it in, and the Ford mechanic just called to tell me he has to replace both outer tire rod ends and align the front, and this will cost about 400.
This seems like a lot!
Does he have to replace both?
Please let me know if this price seems fair....
