While going down the road in my 740 Turbo today in 5th gear, it suddenly came out of 5th and went into 4th on its own, yet the "5" light on the dash remained lit. If I engage or disengage 5th gear with the shift button, the light will turn on or off, but the gear never engages.

Any suggestions?

I was in a car accident where the other party was at fault. I am 7 months pregnant. I have been to doctor and as far as we know everything is okay. The accident was minor. Other party's ins. is trying to settle, wanted to pay for the extra MD visit after accident and the representative said she would see about getting me a "little extra money for the injury claim". Her exact words. This was just mentioned today. The accident was two weeks ago. They had to total my vehicle and they would like to get it wrapped up. Should I settle before the baby is born to make sure everything is okay? I am getting advice not to but I don't want to seem like I'm trying to get alot of from them.

I was recently involved in a fender bender in a public parking lot in which the person backed into my car. I had come down the parking aisle and, after seeing no spots, decided to reverse back down the parking aisle to an open spot when he made contact with my vehicle. Im pretty sure I still had right of way and it is his fault. My concern is we did not want to file police report b/c we both had a couple beers in us and didnt want to approach that can of worms. The estimate on my car was $1700 roughly and im pretty sure w/o the police report his insurance would never pay. im hoping im not screwed as far as that goes and since the person that hit me was a younger person in their early 20s (i.e. not a boatload of cash lying around) I was wondering how, if at all, i could recover some or all of the cost of the damage or what steps i need to proceed with.

I'm just wondering how this works. I have a house in another state. Can I put my car under that other state's insurance? I want to do this because it is cheaper. Can the car stay with me at the state I'm currently living in?

How do people do this? Register there car in one state while living and driving it in another? Thanks

Sometimes the streetlight is green, but the "Don't Walk" sign is lit, although it appears to be safe to cross, based on traffic patterns. I know this may vary by locality (I wouldn't think this law would be federally applied), but is it clearly spelled out in any locality?

Or, is the "walk/don't walk" sign even legally applicable? Maybe it's just a suggestion sign, and pedestrians can legally cross whenever they want, as long as they yield to traffic? Specific references to traffic codes would be *great*.

i used own a Ford truck which was destroyed in Fire. I don't have the vehicle anymore. But i still have the title for it. Since my insurance didn't pay me anything for the damage and ford didn't make a recall at that point on my vehicle, I'm trying to recoup any possible way I can. Any suggestion helps.

I just installed a remanufactured transmission in a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Liter gas, the other transmission went out about a week ago , no forward or reverse, was the problem, I just finished installing this today and it shifts into gear fine the first couple of times and then it has difficulty shifting, rev up truck a little then goes in to gear, but not as it should. It seems like when you turn truck off and turn it back on it, shifts fine first 2 times and then has problem shifting. What could be wrong? Would the throttle cable running to the tranny have a issue? What else should I check? , any adjustments?
