both are small blocks i believe....and it depends on what you want to use your vehicle for as to which is better...both have advantages and disadvantages....these days most small blocks are as powerful as the old big blocks

A big block is better because it has more cubic inches and makes more torque, torque is what you feel in the seat of your pants while accelerating. A 5.0 is a small block as is a 341.

go the big block more potential allthough small blocks do rev harder but there is no substitute for cubic inches, go a 454 with a weind 6/71 supercharger and endily injection no one will catch you.
