I am seriously confused! I live in "Schwarzeneggarville" and just watched a story on the news in which they were talking about his Hummers and how much greenhouse gases they give off. They said that he uses 415 gallons of gas per year in one of his Hummers and that this results in 8,125 lbs of greenhouse emissions. I believe a liquid gallon of gasoline weighs about the same as a gallon of water, or 8.14 lbs. 8.14 x 415 = 3,378 lbs of gasoline used per year. How does 3,378 lbs of a liquid that is heavier than air become 8,125 lbs of lighter than air gas? This sounds like "fuzzy math". What else, on earth, can one burn and have it more than double in weight?

I have a 98 Sable with the standard V6 and encountered a problem today. When I started the car, it started rough for the first time in its 98K miles. When I pulled out, the car was very rough, shakey and what not. I thought it might be a plug or something that was fouled by the rough start. However, while I was driving home at highway speed I noticed that when I took my foot off the gas the car did not slow down (almost as if the cruise control was on) and sometimes sped up. When I got back to side roads, and would press the accelerator there would be a hesitation (a deep pause) and then a quick jump. Any ideas?

I am claiming thru my insurance co the total loss of my vehicle because the at fault driver has only limited coverage for property damage.my claim exceeds that.My insurance has offered me below acv of my car.My question is : In arizona is there a way to dispute the value of your car thru arbitration or mediation? If insurance co refuses to do that is that considered "in bad faith"?How long should one wait for the insurance co to respond after you have notified them that their offer is unacceptable?

as in i have changed master, and wheel cyd., new brakes and all but and i bleed from the fartherest wheel away and work my self in . (The driver side front and rear passenger when bleed will shoot fluid in a stream no air there) (In the other hand the passenger front and driverside rear just dribbles out ) have bleed for 2 days now. And i change the calipers too.

Whenever I'm driving, it seems all the other drivers should easily get a speeding ticket and are driving much faster than me, even though I am already 10 mph over the speed limit. This couldn't possibly happen everywhere I go and noone gets caught by the cops, so I think it might be a problem with the speedometer. How much would this type of repair cost? would it be worth to fix it? Otherwise my car is still running great at 145k. I plan to drive it to at least 200k. Thanks in advance.

HEY GUYS I JUST REPLACED THE UPPER RADIATOR ENGINE SPOUT ON MY BMW CAUSE IT WAS OLD AND FALLING APART AND CAUSING MY CAR TO OVERHEAT NOW THAT I HAVE REPLACED IT AND IT IS PROPERLY ON ITS STILL OVEHEATING THERE ARE NO STRANGE NOISES OR SMELL AND THE OIL LOOKS FINE WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLE BE??

Would it make my catamaran even faster if it had four hulls instead of only two?

I am trying to build a very energy-efficient commuter boat, and I hope to make it fast, as well. Since I don't want to have to build a 100-foot boat to get decent hull speed with barely a few horsepower, I am hoping that an artificial extension of my hull length via the "catamaran trick", if there is such a thing, might work - and I wonder whether plopping in a few extra hulls would do it.

Today after completing a right hand turn and turning my blinker to the off position, the sound continued in a much more rapid succession. It continued this for several minutes, slowed down, stopped for a few seconds, and then picked up again.

I got out of my car while it was doing this and saw that my lights were not themselves blinking. When I turn on my blinkers, the signal on the dash shows that it is working correctly, and it makes the regular sound. However, immediatly after I turn off the blinker, the craziness resumes.

How do I fix this?

The car is a Pontiac Grand Am 2004

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, 2.7L base model that I bought with 106,000 miles on it. Its been well maintained from what I see. My question is: will it make a difference if I spend some extra $ on K&N filters that alot of people seem to swear by? I am *not* trying to turn my vehicle into a racecar, just want to squeeze out a little extra horsepower and better fuel economy out of it. Recommendations???

The serpentine belt comes loose on my minivan, usually when it goes through a water puddle. It has happened several times and the mechanics don't seem to know how to keep it from happening. They have said it has been known to occur with this model, I was hoping someone else has had it and found how to fix it for good.
