We have a 1993 Chevy Cavalier RS,automatic its in good shape,has high milage, good on gas,runs clean,just had fuel filter changed,new muffler and tail pipe. We do an oil change every 3000 miles as we do most intown driving and never go on the interstate.My husband usually puts high octane gas in , and there seems to be no leaks any where? We have owned it 4 years and it runs like a charm and still looks good. We would appreciate any ideas as the mechanic cant figure it out? Thanks All.

It's getting cold out, and a squirrel has decided to make a nest and store nuts in the trunk of my car. There's a bunch of stuffing (haven't figured out where that came from yet, but I'm sure it's from my seats), and nuts all gathered into 1 corner of my trunk. What's the most likely way it's getting in? It looks like it's been in the inside of the car too... I have 2 cars and would really prefer it stay in this one and not move to the newer car, but at the same time I don't want it in either one... What can I do about it?

I've just bought this car and I'm dying to do something special with it. It has a four cylinder 2.0, a nasty red vinyl interior. It looks like older Cavalier with Cadillac symbols all over it. Any thoughts on what I could do to improve it or should just emter it in a demolition derby and be done with it?

a 4 door civic honda EX, with a/c for CAN $6,800 (US$5,983). it has some really minor scratches, 190,000km and a pretty good interior condition. If it is a good buy, how much more should i bargain for? thank you..really appreaciate it =P

I want to use sugarcane, corn to make ethanol fuel for my cars. The people offering prebuilt still look great...but they are very expensive for me. I need to be able to make small amounts-one or two gallons at a time. Can anyone help me to build one? Ideally, it must be very inexpensive and easy to acquire. Can anyone build me one at a low cost?

I have a 1988 Ford tempo and today in town i started it, drove it half a block after loading a peson in handicapped and got to the light and the engine started smoking as if hot.
I stopped and turn off the car but it almost did not start so I hurry and drove it to a gas station, added water to tank on drivers side and kept air flow to engine.
It made it home but what things can cause the engine to overheat.
the fan was not on.
belts- look ok and tight
thermostat - i dont know where it is.
Fuses - can't find the box and the hot gage is not working on dash.
water pump ? located where and how to check?
anyone with any help please post

I threw an a/c belt last week, did not replace it as I think the compressor has froze up. I did however replace the fan belt and since then there is a loud rattling noise when I start and shut off the engine. Otherwise it seems to run OK. Others have told me it is the water pump bearing getting ready to go. I thought if a pump bearing such as this were bad it would leak first. It doesn't. Could it be bad with no leak?

The fan initially started to not work on fan speed 1, a couple of months ago, now fan speed 2 is not working. I have to turn it on to 3 or highter to get a/c or heat.

ASE sertified master tech with massive electrical diagonisos experiance however i do not understand the paperwork that came from victoria british, it makes no sense at all unless the guages are supposed to be marked as in an old MGTD or MGA I have not yet seen the guages / this is a basket case restoration , totally disassembled and painted, bought with no harness. Was going to buy a Ford 2001 Escape, luckily I held back since he wouldn't supply me a car fax. He said he doesn't do that, doesn't have the program & it would cost the company alot alot alot of money! I can't believe that. I've talked to mechanics, who told me a salesman should offer to run you a car fax. He kept telling me the car was leased, blah,blah & I would be getting a 2yr. warranty (with my money!)RED FLAG!! So i have car insurance with "non insured motorist" coverage on it, my car was parked at a restaurant and it was hit from behind the problem is the vehicle that hit me has Mexico plates and it was a hit and run, unfortunatly he can't be tracked cause he has out-of-country plates, what can i do, btw my rear bumper is messed up. will my insurance company make me pay for it?
