it is your fan relay resistor. very common problem. just replace the fan relay resistor and it will go away. depending upon model of car can be from 18 to 100 dollars.

I doubt its the switch. more likely the in line resistors. Usually located near the blower moter. Just follow the wire coming out of the fan until you find it. Usually a black box. Lots easier to change the switch so try that first (always try the easiest things first. may not have to do the hard stuff.!)

i own a repair shop,and they have a blower motor resistor on them that goes bad ,and it makes them not work on certain speeds ,mine only works on 3 and 4 ,but this is what it is,i do this 6 days a week for a living,and believe me i have seen a lot of bad ones lately,its easy to replace,and cheap too,its located on the heater box ,good luck i hope this help,s

I have a 01 grand am is has the same problem ......replace the heater/ac unit switch in the dash, there is something in the control that is known for screwing up. went on a few Pontiac boards and many others said the same thing

either your blower motor is going and you can pick one up at a wreckers or your module needs replacing its near the blower motor on the passenger side the cost is about 40 - 50 bucks from a dealer. Simple repair.....screwdriver and wrench will do the job, this is a common problem.

PULL THE CONTROL PANEL ON THE DASH AND CHECK FOR LOOSE CONNECTIONS IF THATS NOT IT YOUR CONTROL PANEL NEEDS REPLACED
